ok ive been thinking alot lately.. im starting my new job next week when i get back from florida and i was wondering if anyone else has succsesfuly installed a ebay turbo on a neon yet and how difficult it would be and how expensive it would be compared to asp's turbo kit?

You can piece together a good kit for under 2500.
I'm not sure if anyone has installed an ebay kit on their neon. You could probably use alot of it, just not the turbo or the oil lines and such. [shitty quality]

I hate to be brutally honest with you, but to get the numbers you want, it's still going to cost moar than that. On an SRT sized turbo, with stock internals, you won't be pushing much boost, and you'll be in the VERY low 200s. Look up Glasswars's log, check his numbers and what turbo he's running, and reconsider the route you take to get your car where you want it.

well thats why i dont want to go srt turbo and thats why i figured upgraded pistons and rods into my figures and the asp turbo with exhaust manifold and all the other parts i need to make it work i know its gona be a little more.. but i was just seen if any one put a ebay turbo on and if it worked out fine?

Some people had no problem at all. While others said the turbos really are crap.

Got get a 50/50 chance with them I guess.

I personally wouldn't buy a eBay turbo.

In my opinion, if you think the ASP kit is too expensive then you probably shouldn't be modifying cars.

horsepower costs money, spend it now or spend it later.

I guarantee that if you opt to spend it later you will spend more.

Well, i'd get some stage 1 SRT injectors. They're like $40 shipped normally and you can get to 300whp with a return line.

Stage 1 injectors are way overboard if you don't have some kind of fuel tuning, and a return line isn't enough. Trust me, I've tried it, and it runs wayyy rich, actually flooded it a few times.

I see a engine "boom, clunk, shit" in the future..

Don't buy an ebay turbo :slap:

do it right and get a kit from Hahn, MPx, or ASP

ASP is the best quality and best price.

IF you've researched turbos, you will see a hit or miss when it comes to these chinese ones. Obviously, yes, ebay products (Or chinese rather) are not the best quality. But...it depends on what you get.

Will that turbo shit out on you? Absolutely.

Is it worth $200? That's for you to decide.

Ebay hotside/intakes/IC piping usually isn't too bad. I know a guy running an "ebay" ext wastegate with an S256 that's probably making more power than anyone on this forum. It's just depends. Check out SSautochrome for a lil "Nicer" of the knock off stuff. My friend bought a WG from there...half the price of a Tial and kept up with me.

:tardbang:

btw, RIGHT this moment there is a 60-1 on SRTforums going for $250 bucks. NOT an ebay turbo. It's all about looking around.
