Your going to have to get a wet shot and most likely a direct port after hacking up you intake to prevent puddling.

I used a zex wet system on my 98 a lot, even with the nozzle mounted in a horrible spot, it didn't get any puddling.

To make it not sound like crap, you are going to want to do something better for the exhaust. A ebay short tube, with a no cat downpipe, and just a glasspack is going to be LOUD. VERY LOUD. I would look into a long tube header, a high flow cat, and a good muffler, or, get a magnum header and bolt it to your stock cat, and get an o2 bung welded into the stock cat pipe.

i'm more curious about tunning i've ran the nos sniper kit on my old grand am but needed colder plugs and had to retard something cant recall what it was. but it gonna be throw on and go or will i might wanna run a different octane etc safc if needed? as for as exhaust goes i keeping current setup with the high flow cat the spiral flow and the glass pack just adding the header to it

To start, just run NGK BKR-7E plugs, or whatever part number has superceded, and run a small shot. (35-50) Wet shot only, preferably with the fuel nozzle a little bigger. Make sure to use a window switch and WOT switch. If you don't use those, you will probably blow things up. Progressive controller will let you go bigger, but by the time you spend that much money, you may as well use boost, and make more power.

to your first question: Use high octane gas. I agree that a smaller shot would be better to start with. I believe 75 is the most that guys have gotten away with on here with a stock bottom end. I wonder if instead of doing a WOT switch and a window switch if you could just run it to a switch and flip it on and off. Since you have an atx you won't hit the rev limiter, just make sure you don't spray too early (<3k)

second question: a 200 hp shot of nitrous on a 2.4? or 200 hp out of a 2.4 block... the latter would be ridiculous...

oh i apologize the question was how much hp as anyone been able to make all motor on a 2.4 no spray

I suppose you don't necessarily need the switches on an ATX if you're skilled, but it only takes 1 mistake to pop a motor and it doesn't sound like you have yet acquired the skill to build another one.

On neons.org there have been quite a few that have gotten to that landmark on a 2.4 N/A.

Yeah the 2.4 lets you have a semi streetable 200hp build
Now it still isnt super cheap to get there n/a+spray=win

2.0 is about 170 ish for streetable 2.4 is around 190-200 and that all depends on your definition of streetable

Very true. I had a friend DD a 350 hp fwd talon for a while. It was fun getting into boost and shreeding tires in up to third gear.

You'll be fine with around a 75 shot, as long as you stay out of overdrive. OD is a weak gear in the 4 speed atx transmissions.
