bov's

Post by hybrid-Srt2001 » Tue Jun 22, 2010 10:58 pm

I have a turbo kit that i am trying to put on my car and the coldside pipe has an evo8 style bov flange on it.

It looks to be about an inch and a half diameter for a bov that clamps on with a hose clamp.

does anybody know of any good brand bov's that will work for me? thay don't have to be a recirc as it's going on a neon with a map sensor.

I was thinking something like the stock evo9mr metal bov or tomei brand. any input guys?

any input on these?....
thinking about an adapter plate like this
http://www.maperformance.com/atp-turbo- ... o-8-9.html
and an ebay hks ss

or this adapter
http://www.maperformance.com/atp-turbo- ... o-8-9.html
and a 2g dsm bov or a greddy type s

or the evo9 stock bov (sposed to be good to 25psi and not leak like the plastic evo 8 junk)
Yup it definately needs to go lower. If its not scrapeing constantly why you are driving then its not low enough bro.
hope these work.

basically the hahn kit uses an evo 8 style bov.

the bov attaches onto the piping with a small hose and hose clamps.

the adapters clamp on the piping and have a flange for either an hks or greddy bov

if i use the greddy style adapter i can use a greddy or dsm bov

if i use the hks style i can use a hks real or fake bov.

or i can buy an evo 9 stock bov for 130$

Hm, that looks like my flange.. I am rocking a Turbo XS knockoff , or you can rock a real one with that round flange.

I love the way mine sounds, never heard another BOV like it, sounds like a bird fluttering it's wings. Never leaks or anything either.

However mine fits directly over the flange and the BOV has little screws built into it that you tighten over the flange.

what ever you do dont run a ssqv, if your tring to save a little money get the greddy flange and a 1g talon bov, crush it and be set till you want to get another. i run a rfl on my coupe and i love it, no leaks and it sounds great.

$25 of Bosch surge valve (found on 1.8T VWs) put a filter on the open end and you're done

OR

Ebay knock off HKS the one on the omni is great why? Its a $20 ebay case full of HKS parts yes it all interchanges

Both are cheap and effective
