There's a nice spot on the back of the block to tap for a feed line, it's right next to passenger side freeze plug. If you run a hose barb, make sure it's clamped really well. I would recommend some braided hose and some -an compression fittings instead of hose barbs though.

For the return, we drilled a hole in the top coolant hard line that runs past the drivers side of the head. And then welded a barb onto it.

So my coolant feed is a braided line with compression fittings, and my return is just soft line with a couple clamps. However I'll be swapping it for some braided line and compression fittings whenever I get time to mess with it.

You can check the progress log to see some pics.....

Here you can barely see the coolant feed fitting on the right side of the picture...

The one in the block is basically the block drain plug. They can be pretty snug, so be prepared for that. It is 3/8 NPT, IIRC.

Thanks for the info guys. Bill you were right, it took me a few tries with various different tools before I pulled out my impact wrench. 440nm of torque later it came out no problem.

Just to confirm the drain plug is definitely not a 3/8 NPT it is smaller, about 13.5 mm at the base to 13 mm at the tip. Anyone know what common NPT size this is?

Hmmm, maybe it is 1/4 NPT. It has been a while...

Maybe I was thinking the oil port and the coolant drain were the same size.

Take the plug you removed to get the matching pipe nipple from your hardware/or whatever they call supply places on that side of the pond.

Some people sacrifice their windshield washer tank.

You could mount it in the left fender area, where the air intake resonator is/was. You would need to fab a filler neck, and some way to determine fluid level though. There just isn't a lot of excess real estate in the engine bay.
