intake manifold SOHC

i heard somewhere that the 1gen and 2gen intake manifolds have the same hook up to the head. is this true? and if so a simple 3.0 intake would be a good bet to go with right? plus i like the thought to be able to find an aluminum one and port it.

Yes and no, the 2 manifolds would bolt to the head but the 1gn tb mount differently and would not work on your 2gn. The same issue with the 3.0 intake, wont fit a 2gn properly. The aluminum manifold one from the magnum would work though

A magnum is a modified SOHC from the factory, not a dohc.

The Magnum IM is a bolt on, but some wiring is required.

It is the only aluminum IM that is a direct fit to the 2gn SOHC set up.

1995 SOHC aluminum IM's are a bit rare, but not impossible to come by. You see them for sale every now and then. If you have welding skills, you could mod one to fit the 2gn parameters.

Otherwise just search for Ghetto Blaster, for what you can do with a 1gn plastic IM.

ok yeah i just wanna keep this neon a natural breather so trying to figure out what ways to go to get the most out of it, the srt ill get soonish will be the one i play with the boost

What are you referring to when you say "3.0 intake"? The only 3.0 I know of is the 6G72 Mitsubishi V6 used in Chrysler vehicles in the 80s-90s.

And that intake manifold is nowhere near fitting a 4 cylinder engine!

The intake hose from a 3.0 Chrysler product can be cut and used as a "CAI" on 1st gen Neons.

mag intake will bolt up fine to sohc head
