Seriously, if everyone only knew how much time I had invested planning the trip for this year, getting a Sheetz credit card for gas, etc. I mean, I had made my motel reservation last November (although I found a cheaper rate this past April). Maps on Streets & Trips will be used for 2022. I was really looking forward to being there this year. And I still haven't been able to pick up my company car (it sat at the Nissan dealership for two days before a tech even looked at it). I tried getting ahold of my service writer this afternoon but couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I may have to swap out my work gear into the rental as I go back to work on Wednesday.

I'm really sorry to hear all that gramps, I was looking forward to seeing you!

For the record, Fuzzy came out this time with his civic. I talk to him often and it was hard to keep it a secret that he was coming.

Ryan B (sidepipe87) also bought his SRT swapped car he had sold a while back and snuck it to the fairgrounds and nobody knew he had brought it.

DeVaugn (dvon17) also came out and hung out with all of us and that was quite the surprise. I ended up racing his ecoboost fusion with the wagon, and lost  so hopefully I'll do some stuff next year to the wagon to make it a bit faster.

All in all, the family and I had a great time, and had a great time seeing the 2GN family.

What's done to the wagon, performance-wise? Isn't it like stage 2 with bolt-ons?

Bought our first house! Super stoked. We closed on June 21st. Super happy! Basically paid for what it appraised at which was $300k. Put 20% down, and got 2.99% interest rate, 30 year conventional loan. Goal is to make bigger payments and pay off in 20 years or less.

Can fit 2 cars on one side which is nice. Can't wait to make this place my own! Lots of organizing and cleaning has been going down!
Congrats on the new house, it looks beautiful! Loving the garage space... My wife and I are in the same boat currently. We purchased our current house back in 2012 from my grandmother with the intention to remodel it (it was in a state of disrepair) and then sell it and move closer to work. We both work about 25 miles from home which translates to an hour plus each way depending on how many accidents there are because people can't drive through tunnels without crashing daily. The plan had been to move in 2020... and then 2020 happened. Well early 2021 we decided we were going to make the move. The housing market is nuts but we had an offer accepted on a house that is closer to work, in a quiet neighborhood on a small cul-de-sac and has more property than the current house. We closed on the new house already and after 5 days on the market we accepted an offer on our current house and we close on July 29th.

A few years ago we thought it we could get $150k for this house we would be over the moon! The house is nice... 3 bedroom ranch, 1 full 2 half baths, brand new deck, finished basement etc but the school district is really bad. Well... the current market doesn't seem to hold back because instead of anything close to that $150k we were hoping for, we accepted an offer of $257k and we did not have to make any concessions at all! Now granted, we paid a lot more for our new house as well than in a "normal" market but we knew we'd make it up when we went to sell.

When buying the new house, we were able to put 20% down to avoid paying PMI and we opted for a 15 year mortgage to get a lower interest rate as well. Before we finally decided to buy this house we looked at several commercial garages since we were considering staying put since we were both working from home indefinitely. We had a bad sales experience with the first place and the second one which we offered well over asking price for (all cash) we lost out on as well. At this point we decided we were just going to move and find a place with a bigger garage or more space. The new house has twice as much garage space as the current house... AKA 2 car garage vs 1 lol. There is no room to go wider but there is room to go deeper into the back yard... that is the plan. Nothing is set in stone yet but the plan is to go deeper and turn the garage into a 6 car garage with room for a lift.

It seems that several who showed up never posted here about coming so I had no idea that so many would be there.

I honestly had no idea who was going to be there either... well I knew the Canadians wouldn't be there because of the border, but besides that it seemed like it was up in the air on who would be there.
