The Neon Has A Boo Boo....

Well I was driving home from work today cruising at around 30 mph when a woman (at a stop sign) decided to pull out in front of my moving car (I had no stop sign but rather the full blown right away) and I hit her hard....

She was driving a 2003 Ford Thunderbird convertible v8 and I hit her side front right fender (minimal damage to her car surprisingly) but my car....

Well, I'm going to need a whole new front bumper as well as both side fenders and a new hood... it got fucked up pretty bad but it still drives and I don't think any engine / components are messed up...

It was her fault 100% and luckily she admits it and she took responsibility and is full cooperating... but apparently her driving record is crap and she just got her thunderbird out of the shop cause she flipped it on the freeway.....

Anyways, taking it to the body shop tomorrow (friend's friend shop thing, do a good job and trustworthy, good shop).... but I'm bumming about my car... she only has 7k miles on her and she already got screwed up... damn....

I guess I can't bum too much though, air bags suprisingly did NOT deploy (I hit the side of her car with my car head on to hers) and I got jolted around quite a bit (was wearing my seatbelt thankfully) but I can agree that the neon deserves its 4 star front crash rating....

I took pics with my cell phone cam and if I can get my bluetooth working again I'll post them....

Anyways just a little shaken up but no bodily harm except my baby has a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I have faith she'll be fixed..

Yeah seriously of all the cars on the road to get hit by, I got hit by a FORD.... whats that about? I hate Fords.

OK went to 2 bodyshops....

1st Shop (My Prefered Shop):
$4700 bucks - 2 weeks
May be more after they take off the parts etc etc

2nd Shop (Gay Caliber Auto Place)
$5700 bucks - 5 weeks

So it looks like my prefered shop wins.. now i have to get this bitch to pay up cause she doesn't want to go through insurance cause she has a crappy ass record but I think she has bank so hopefully she coughs it up... and if she wants to give me crap I'm calling her insurance and the DMV.. she's one point @ the DMV away from losing her license so that gives me some weight to push around... oh and I am making her pay for a rental etc etc

id still call the DMV and Insurance, because im an asshole like that.

Theres no excuse for shitty driving. I dont believe people should get off the hook free when the screw up. There should be punishment for their actions.

I would just buy the parts myself but the problem is that the frame in the front is bent etc etc and I'm working two jobs right now and I'm starting film school in the fall so I'm super busy and don't really have the time to sit and do it all... and I mean I know it was an accident and the lady is apologetic and all (i mean, she still is one sucky driver) but I'm a firm believer in karma and if I try to screw her out of her pocket book, somebody probably will come along and screw me.....

Even the guys at work tell me the car is posessed,bad omen,bad luck whatever......
The sad part is I just dumped $500 into it to keep him/her happy.....ARG, it is posesed...

i use to be nice... everytime someone bumped my car and there was no damage (it happened quite a few times) i would just be like 'don't even trip, no damage-no problem', but then the couple of times that i was at fault... the people would be dickheads and call the cops right away....
