Opinion Im thinking of a new Spoiler

Post by CrashTeam » Fri Jun 30, 2006 1:56 pm

I really like the look of the STi Wing

I have a guy from chicago interested in swaping trunks with me, He has an STi spoiler on his, mine is the smaller wrx wing.

My wing looks like this...

A straight up swap? You get more "product and material" out of the deal. I would go for it, just for that fact. but to all honesty I think wrx's looks nice w/o any wings. I am just a wingless type of guy.

everyone will want to race you thinking you got wrx wheels on an sti instead of the wing reversal if thats fine with you. but do it the sti wing rocks on your cars. and its not super heavy. but i think you guys need to swap everything trunk related cause sport compact did a trunk swap on theres but didnt swap the poppers and stuff and there trunk would fire open cause the wingless trunk versus sti trunk was different but thats not your concern for it flying open your have the wrx but it might not pop it enough if you get what im saying!

I love the sti - they are awesome, I woldn't change a thing about them. I say go for it, but then again, I am all about the high spoilers - I like the SRT wing, the STi, the old Mitsu Eclipse, the EVO8, and the large Civic Spoiler. But, just my 2 pennies.

Thanks Guys, About the trunk poper, Mines in the car, the remotes dont have popers, at least mine doesnt, the pop is inside the trunk anyway, just unhook the trunk lid and the 3rd brake light harness, reattach on new car and go.

Ill go for it, as long as he still wants to...

I'm seriously considering a Sti. My two largest complaints about the car, besides the lack of a fold down rear seat, are the ovesized hood scoop and wing. Esthetically and performance-wise the wing is useless to me. I know the hood is functional, but to my eye, it's fugly. I haven't looked into it, but I hope someone makes a CF hood with a rear opening (like the old LT-1 Camero). I'm a huge fan of the sleeper look. To answer the question...I'd keep the stocker. Better yet, swap for a plain jane Imprezza trunk, if possible.
