Little Rant Bout Parts Dept. At Dealership
[Rant on]
i would just like to say how STUPID they are. I walked into
the parts dept. at the dealership with the part number for the
Studded bolts to put on the fuel injector cover. i told the guy
behind the counter the part number and asked him to order me a
set (2) bolts for the cover. He asked me what kind of neon i had
and if it was a 2.0 SOHC or DOHC, this was the first red flag in my
head cause i told him it was a 2003 SXT which means it could ONLY
come in a SOHC.. but ne wayz so i told him it was a 2003 sxt SOHC
and he went over to the computer with my part number.. he types
on the computer for a couple mins, and then comes back over to
and says "well that part doesnt come up for your car, are you sure
this is what you need" i told him again that i had gotten a fuel
injector cover and that it didnt have the bolts with it... i then
described to him what the bolt looked like and told him how it
snapped into the injector cover.. he looks at me with a puzzled
look and says "well lets go look at ur car so i can see what u mean"
so i take him out to my car and show him where the cover would go
and where the 2 bolts would go... he says ok and walks back inside
with me. he goes back to the computer keeps looking, then comes
back to me and says " are you sure that is not a srt4" i just sat
there thinking to myself...you just looked at the car moron, you saw
what motor was in it.. so he finally gets the bright idea and calls
someone on the phone and asks them to describe the bolts to him
and what they are used for... then he tells me they dont have any
at the dealership and they wont get them for 3 days.. so he takes
my name and number and told me they will call me when they come
in...
how stupid can the guy be..how can u look at the engine and still
ask me if it was a srt4.. well thats my rant..i think dealership ppl
are just plain stupid!

You should have told him you had a 2000. All the 2000's and most of the 2001's had the cover. I know mine does. But, yeah, some dealership people can be clueless.

The dealer I normally go to for my neon stuff, they know me pretty well there since Ive been going there for almost 4 years. They never question a part number that I give them, they are always really helpful if I dont have a part number and Im not sure what something is called specifically (like that little fuel line I had to replace a few months ago).
The only thing I ever had a problem w/ w/ them was a couple years ago when I wanted to order the injector cover for my neon. I showed the guy where it goes, I described it, told him what it was called. Everything but the Vin and a part number, because I had neither. No one believed that it had one. None of the neons on the lot had one, just my luck. so a friend ended up finding one in a junkyard for me and got it for me instead. Even my boyfriend at the time swore up and down that I was wrong. And that pissed me off. BADLY.
