i have cingular and its ok. the razr is poop so far, im on my second one in 2 months, and this one is a POS sometimes. the service is ok tho. verizon has the best service IMO, but they charge way too much. ive had all the big companies.

Large phone bills SUCK. I cant imagine how high mine would be if my bf and I didnt have the same phone company (alltel). Last month, it said I used almost 5,000 minutes. like 4500 were mobile to mobile

I put a little program on my phone to keep track of how many mins I use... I only get 450 with my plan b/c my bill is already fooking high with the data plan so when I get to around 400-430... "gotta go, running out of minutes" then I only use night and weekend minutes or if I know someone is on the same service as me (Verizon). It's a bitch but I tollerate it so I don't have a phone bill thats $150 when it's already over $100.

My plan is normally 450 anytime, 5000 nights/weekends a month but with rollover, I think I have like 3000 extra minutes. A lot of people I know are on my network so it's always free (mobile to mobile).

The best thing to do is that--get on the same network or expand your plan. Mobile to mobile is very popular now.

If this is a first time occurrence, call up your provider and explain some bullshit story about why you went over. Many times, they will accommodate you (like they did with my brother this month). My brother works on movie sets in the tri-state area and as such, everyone communicates via the cell phone and he went over by like 200 minutes. Multiply that by .65 cents per, and you have an insane bill. He called up, explained his job and reasoning, and they cut the bill in half, and gave him credit to his new plan (which he opted for).

That is VERY VERY true, they're usually desperate to keep you as a customer so if you call up and say you'd like to cancel they'll usually start breaking out the deals to keep you as a customer. Usually only works if you've been with them for awhile though

actually i get good service over here. even with my broken antenna. i get full service in other cities than i do in alameda.
