Camera Help: HP Photosmart R727

Post by scneonchic » Mon Aug 07, 2006 8:47 pm

Just got a new camera over the weekend, and took some pictures of the new drop yesterday. I loaded the disk, in stalled everything and hooked the USB cable up to my computer, just like I did the other one and nothing. its saying it cant find any HP products.

what am i doing wrong?

I checked all of my 'removable devices' or whatever and none of the drives work, even w/ the camera on and usb pulled in.

:(

any ideas?

Make sure the camera is ON or switched to the 'Connect to PC' mode... :-k Also, try rebooting, if you haven't already, which I'm sure you have.

I'd be triple checking the manual, and the troubleshooting section. Worse comes to worst, just uninstall everything, and reinstall it following the steps in the manual to the T.

You didn't plug the camera in before installing the driver for it did you? That's happened to my dad on occasion. That'll need uninstalling/clearing the registry to fix it.

well if you till have trouble ask me cause I do work with them all day. I work at Circuit City selling them so I should know them.

I would say make sure you reboot so your drivers are working right then make sure that you have the camera on when you want to use it. If it still is not working try another USB port if your computer is a few years old it might have a 1.0 USB somewhere and 2.0s other places. Other then that I have no idea I would have to look at the camera and the screen you are getting.

I just setup an HP camera for work for warranty claims. The pre-installed software blows.
Plug the camera in and turn it on, Im assuming your using windows XP, it should have a balloon window pop up saying it detected a removable disc..then it will go through an install sequence. ONce completed it will tell you that to.
If your any good with photo editing use Adobe photoshop, I dont recomend the HP software unless your a beginner..
