Act of God...

Post by CrashTeam » Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:08 pm

So last night was a good night for me to start believing in fate.

So Ive been planning on taking my buddy Rob out for his 21st bday which was yesterday, So me him and a friend of ours get in the car and head to Springfield Il. Its around an hour and a half drive, but they have bars that are worth it. So we are about 25 minutes into the drive, Suddenly...
My Dash lights all come on at the same time, My radio starts turning on and off and the car starts slowing down... I manage to have enough juice in the car for the power brakes to ease us off the interstate and onto the side of the road. My first though, Smoked the Alt. So after a few phone calls we get ahold of a set of jumpers, The car starts and we pussy foot back to Quincy. Agrivated and thirsty for booze we jump into our friends car and drive to the closest bar. But for some reason we changed our mines at the last minute and instead made a trip to a Wine and Spirits and picked up some cheep beer and headed back to robs house to just chill.
Around 12:45am after our buzzes were just starting to kick in we are just chilling in the back yard on the steps, a purple truck comes driving slowly threw the ally, a white guy gets out, walks up to the cars parked out back of Robs house and starts trying to open doors, not even noticing us... Rob and I stand up and ask "Can I help you kid?" The guy starts walking away.
Me and rob give chase as the guy hops in his 90's Purple ford ranger and tears off.
We got his plate number so we called 911 and had an officer come and get a report, Rob asked to File charges.

Now If we had made it to springfield, this person would not only have broken into Robs mothers Van but also would have broken into other cars in the area.

So today I take the Subaru to My buddys at Sears Auto Center (I work in sears Security so they all know me very well)
After 6 Alt/Battery checks, there is not a single problem with my car... I drove all over today without on problem...

Im calling Act of god...
:) sorry for the long read, I wanted to share though.

Well we were hidden in the shroud of darkness and were around 30 feet away from the cars.

I was hoping this was going to be something more scary or unbelieveable.

Nice choice you guys made, though.

:withstupid: on this one..... but really good story and a better choice. Remember, if your going to get toasted....do it with friends in a private dark place 30 feet from cars....that's what my mom always said anyway. :D

Nice story! And yeah I was expecting something scary, or even a really close call with Death.

Everything happens for a reason, and I don't believe in coincedences.

It's really amusing when you don't think about something at the time, but a few years later you recall a happening and it's really amusing to see how things work out.

+1
I would have been like that SRT owner in Texas who shot up his own car by accident (that's what happened right?).

Well except for the shotting my own car, I wouldn't try to do that.
Justin- I have nothing but smart ass remarks to add.
