Indiana State Police Crackdown

Post by FTWNeon » Thu Oct 26, 2006 12:50 pm

Got this e-mail the other day at work and from what I've seen with the recent Police activity I think it's true. So for those of use in Indiana, Look out!!!!

I just received this from a former student of mine from Ivy Tech whose
husband is a policeman. I thought it might save you a lot of money!
You're welcome! All gratuities accepted!!!

>Subject: Indiana State Police Crackdown
>
>Indiana State Police are going to start cracking down on speeders.
Their new slogan is "Lower Speeds, Less Crashes, Save Lives".
>
>Per their Superintendent they are going to start issuing citations
for
>1) 6 miles over the speed limit.
>2) Failure to Yield
>3) Improper Lane Movement (which includes not signaling 300 feet
before
>you change lanes if traveling over 50 mph or not signaling at all)
>4) Following to Close & this is $160.00 ticket by itself!!!!
>5) Passing an Officer
>
>Just an FYI. This is information that Jesse was given at his post
meeting >yesterday. We already saw another one of his co-workers pull a guy
over >this morning for merging onto the interstate and then pulling right
into >the center lane without properly signaling. They're going to start
>cracking down. They want to have the same reputation of the Ohio State
>Police.
>
>

Ohio Police suck by the way.

Yeah, they say that in Ontario too. Meanwhile the average speed on the 401 is still around 75MPH, it's a 60MPH highway. You can go right by the cops at 75 and they don't care. They normally don't start handing out tickets until about 80.

I don't know man, I did a few runs between Ontario-Iowa and Ontario-Wisconsin this summer and hardly saw any troopers at all. And when we did go flying by one a 90 they didn't do a thing :? The only exception was when we were leaving Milwaukee the Wisconsin state troopers turned up the anal, must have saw a dozen of those bastards between Milwaukee and Illinois pulling everyone over. Never seen cop action like that before even in Ontario.

 I've never had any problems with OH in all of my trips up and back from Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Toledo.... Indiana seems to already have it's wrap for being dicks and their fines and penalty's are pretty high as well from what I've heard.

ISP have definitely been out and about more in the last few weeks. I am on I-69 between Daleville and Marion daily (and I-69 between Indy and Ft. Wayne on Saturdays) for my jobs so I can attest to this fact.

ISP wont keep those standards very long. There will be WAY too many people to pull over for that stuff.

They would have to put like 500 cops on I-94 alone just to pull everone over for going 6mph over or following too closely. Everyone going toward Chicago breaks all of those rules constantly.

IN cops are the devil. Ugh!

ISP has been worse lately because of the construction. And they like to pull people over soley for window tint!

If you're not speeding, I don't think it's a crime. But if you are speeding...they'll stop you and think of you as incredibly stupid!
