Drove an Integra gs-r today

My brother is looking at buying a 2001 acura integra gs-r and he needed me to test drive it because he's stuck at work during the days. I have to say I had high expectations because these things run the 1/4 in 15.1 which isn't too much slower than my friends altima that I've driven recently and is balsy as all hell. I reved the teggy all the way to 7500+ in 2nd merging on the freeway and I'll be damned if that thing pulled any harder than my crappy neon. wtf? I don't doubt it would beat my neon in a race, but only because of how high you could rev the thing. I swear my neon has a more fun to drive nature which is what my ass-dyno likes. Obviously the thing handled infinitely better than my car and it was a lot smoother and had a much nicer interior. Still, either there is something wrong with that teggy or my ass-dyno is way outta calibration. Anyone driven an integra that's experienced something different? Does it sound like there is something wrong with the car? cuz my brother might buy it.

Yes to everything...

Going from a Neon to a GSR should net you some good HP per your butt dyno. LOL.... Maybe somethings wrong with that one... I love my teggy. Has great pick up ... 8)

Thx for the reply. I found out it is a rebuild title and that may have something to do with the performance not quite measuring up to my expectations and the price being like $2500 below blue book. Ya i've driven the little 1.6 sivic si and I was not that impressed to be honest either. But the integra has a 1.8 and quite a bit more tourque so I was disappointed when it felt less balsy than my low revving neon. Imma tell him to stay away from it. Thx again.

I drove my friends Teggy at college, it wasn't a gs-r though. It was WAY weak...I was really disappointed. Not that that has anything to do with how a gs-r feels....but I felt like commenting.

An automatic or even standard Integra LS should feel similar to your Neon.. .An integra GSR should feel like a damn race car compared to your Neon.

I'm ordering my GS-R engine/tranny swap for my CRX soon. I can't wait, should feel like a friggin' rocket as long as I can get traction.
