And, also, I didn't get my tongue split in a shop... actually, i don't get anything done in a shop. The people I went to/work with USED to work in shops, have all there certifications, and personal autoclaves. Even though Marcaine tends to last longer than Xylocaine, most customers have agreed that it is not as strong. In addition, it has a much lower LD50 than Xylocaine and extreme caution should be excercised. In the vast majority of cases, you'd be better off using Xylocaine.
