FYI to some of you... if you're using a Palm OS phone such as the Treo with an internet connection you can stream the radio to your phone using Pocket Tunes. I had it on my phone about a year ago playing around with streams and and I just happen to remember about it last night.

If you have a phone that runs on Windows Mobile you can also use PocketTunes or any other PalmOS using http://styletap.com/

Just a little tid bit of info for those with a smartphone...

Okay, guys... I'm ready to start getting DJ's setup for the station. If you're interested in DJ'ing on 2GN Radio, please post up what time and what days you can DJ. To get an idea of what's available, check out the 2GN Radio website - http://radio.2GN.org and click on 'DJ Schedule' at the top of the page.

Requirements to DJ:
- A decent music library to be able to play two hours of non-repetitive music.
- A decent quality microphone (so you can talk during your show).
- AOL Instant Messenger (to allow people to IM you for requests, etc.)

I will contact each DJ individually and provide you with the broadcasting software and help you set it up.

Thanks!

(More details to come if I missed anything. I stickied this topic.)

I would be all for this, i have about 50GB of music... but no mic, i don't like to talk, and i dunno when i'd be availble.

I can cover the random ass hours that no one can talk on. Just set up playlists and let them go. I work on a Mac though... soooo yea.

If you can't get it to work with Winamp or just don't want to use Winamp or iTunes, like someone else said, you can use WMP.

If you use Windows Media Player...

Awesome! SAM Broadcaster is the software I use, too.

I'll get you added to the schedule (at least a couple days) and PM you the details for connecting to the server. It sounds like you have experience with SAM, so this should be an easy setup.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we now have an automated music request feature integrated with the station. I worked at this for about 4 hours Saturday night. You can now browse the music playlist and make requests directly through the 2GN Radio site (http://radio.2gn.org)! The downside is that only time that the automated request feature will work is when 'DJ ATX' is DJ'ing. It's an 'Automatic' DJ that runs from my PC and selects songs on it's own. To see who the current DJ is, just visit the 2GN Radio site and look at the top left of the page - You'll see who's DJ'ing there. The average request is played within 15 - 20 minutes of selecting the song you'd like to hear, so stick around for a while before you give up. Don't get too crazy though, because you can only only 3 songs every 60 minutes and no more than a total of 15 times per day.

Now go check it out & try it! Let me know what you guys think about it!

I see we're your last resort.

You can also make requests from the 2GN Radio site if there's a song you'd like to hear.

Really? :-k

I just tried resetting the stream. I had been streaming for 46 hours and that's the longest I've (or the computer) has ever let it go. Let me know if it's still doing it...
