Decision finally made!

Well here is the predicament. My bro recently got a pristine 1997 Integra GSR. So now he has 2 cars. He is going to be moving back to Kansas this summer and he might sell me his other car, which is an 89 Civic Hatch STD. Yes! They had a Honda model called an "STD" It was the lightest of the bunch with no options at all. Well the engine got dropped and a b16a1a (160hp) was thrown in there, rear disc conversion, siR hatch swap, siR front a rear seat conversions, 4 to 5 speed swap. siR suspension switch over. Some very expensive stiff as f00k motor mounts and misc. bolt ons. This car is very quick and is like a little go-cart. This car handles so we3ll and is very loud inside due to the motor mounts. No AC, No radio. He will sell it to me for $5k, he might go a bit lower. But its all up in the air right now. I would really like a quick car and this thing would definately satisfy my need for that. Plus theres a Wings West Body kit collecting dust in our garage that he will throw in there, plus a slew of other "extra parts" from the swap. So I might end up selling the Neon here next year and buy this little beast. Heres some old picts when he came by last year. Paint is flawless and its original from 89. We will see what happens.... Its really up in the air.

Believe me, I will think VERY hard about this. Its something I don't NEED, it would just be nice to have a quick car for a change. It has grown on me a bit. Oh yeah that stupid team illusionz sticker is gone. This car is ugly compared to my Neon, but its quick. I am just tired of having a "base" model ATX Neon. I would really love to do an SRT-4 tranny and engine swap in my car... Its just I really don't have the time to get a donor SRT-4, have a place to put it and work on it. Too much time and a bunch of money and a lot of PITA moments I can see happening with the swap. If I lived on the east coast I would buy one of those R/T's or turbo 2.0's I have seen up for sale. But unfortunately I live in bum fuk Egypt and this Civic looks pretty much stock. Very nice sleeper.

Nah, the engine puts out 160 hp at the crank... I am gonna find out how much this car weighs...
Here we are... This is before the engine swap when it was completely stock. 1989 Honda Civic HB MT 2013

Over priced...

$5,000 for a 89 Hatchback with a $1500 motor in it... not worth it.... seriously.. get on honda-tech and you can find better deals all day long.

I say get the price dropped, and then buy it - I would jump all over it!!! I love those cars, and I tell you what, that sucker is going to be fast!!!! I saw one JUST like it at KCIR one night, with same set up run 13.01. Kid you not. Awesome car, get it. But yeah, drop the price some!!! Maybe - $3000 :D

The hatch above with just the B16 and intake/exhaust will be in the 14s but does have good potential..

$5,000 is way over priced.. especially from your brother. I'd offer something in the range of $2500.

hmmmmm, My bro is still tryin to rip me off even to this day. First it was basketball cards now this. Like I said, its still up in the air and he will probably lower the price. I am gonna keep my eyes open.

Yeah LowNSlow he was telling me how people were offering $2k for it. He thought that was way too low. See, my bro got ripped pretty bad... He bought the car stock and had a friend get the clip from an siR, he ended up paying around $8k+ (Including the price of the car) for everything... This was around 6 years ago..... So I guess since he got ripped off he wants to rip me off... I am gonna look into it more.

Very clean CRX.. he supposedly wants 4K.. but that means anything in the 3 range...

Not bad at all for a clean REX...

Check out honda-tech classifieds man.. you find good chit there.

It looks nice, but like the others said, hes asking too much :(

Id try to talk him down to like 2500. or just keep your neon!! esp if your neon is paid off, or close to it. I happen to really like your neon, one of my faves!

Well thanks for the compliment scneon! I honestly love my car to death. I just want a change in a sense. My car has been paid off for over a year now. I pretty much paid it off right away. I looked on Honda tech and found some good stuff, its just too far away. I want something local. Kansas, Mo area. I plan on getting my rear bumper fixed this spring and I will see what I can get out of the Neon. I will probably end up keeping it though, if I don't get what I want out of it. Who knows I might come across a nice R/t.. Cause Dodge is in my blood and I don't think I can join the darkside...

Dooooo Itttttt.

So far I've owned a 1 and 2 gen neon, and an 89 civic STD, and now an 89 CRX HF. I still wish I kept my old civic, it was a great car.

No lie, honda is a good thing. No dissing Neons, they're just more expensive to do up right, and with hondas (especially that honda) it's much easier to do things right and within budget.

(and whip SRT's ;))

EDIT: oh I forgot to say:

Ask 2grand. That's about all that car's worth. Sure it's a nice car, but it's already been molested by someone else. It's not stock in any way, so 5000 is waaaay out of question.

5k seems like a little much, but whatever floats your boat. car definatly needs some work, but i know id be down to buy it in a heartbeat if the price were lower. buying a car from a family member is always cool, cuz u get to know the full history on it and whatnot. Plus u can yell at em when it breaks! ahahaha
