THE BEST DAY EVER - EDIT- instant rant

Went to the mountains (Placerville/Kelsey) to pick up a Christmas tree for the family on Saturday at a really cool tree farm. Anyhoo. Bought a 16' tree for the house this year. (Came with free critters inside..) Drove it three hours home from the mountains and ended up cutting a few feet off so it would fit in the house.
This is where the story gets good....My honey took off to see a play with her girlfriend so it was "boys-night-out" at my place. We needed a tree stand and took off to the store. (My two friends and my son were in the STI.)
Before I was even a block form my house soem idiot in a late model Civic wanted to race. I gave him the snob-nod and laughed at him at the next stoplight. Got into the parking lot at the hardware store and there is this BADASS modded Mini S out front. I park next to him.
We get our crap and head outside. Some old guy owns it and we talk for a bit. When he leaves the parking lot he gives his sweet-ass ride a quick bump and streaks to the closest left-hand turn lane. I follow suit and pass him in the left lane in second at what seemed like 80mph. (There is NOBODY on the road anywhere at this time but traffic is getting close from a light behind us and the Mini)
I slow down as quickly as I decided to play and when I look in my rear-view to prepare to change lanes a Chevy P/U on dubs almost rearends me and does a classic ricer fly by.
By this tim ewe are coming up on my street and I am doing the speed limit with my left signal on. The P/U is doing at least 80 in a 40. I have NO idea where he came from.
As he approches the light 10 car lengths ahead of me it turns red and cross traffic begins to cross. P/U boy cannot stop and slides into the intersection almost T-boning the next car crossing...........which was a Tracy COP!!!!!!
When I approched the left turn lane and stopped the P/U had barely cleared the cop's front bumper and the cop was literally hanging out the window waving his arms and screaming at the P/U. Cherrys ablaze the cop followed the truck to the curb.
I ask my son on the way home what he learned from all that. he says: "Old guys have money for nice cars. Your car is pretty fast but it stops WAY better than that ghetto truck..hahah"
I love my kid.

funny thing it - I saw him later driving through town . . . .with no front bumper

^I only post the good ones. Hes a real smart-ass like me so he's usually in trouble. It was funny as fug to see that truck get spanked by the popo after his idiot maneuver though. I wasn't even racing, just playin' around with the old-cat in the Mini. Then outta' nowhere comes 46cent in his dubbed boomin' base Chevy P/U with flowmasters......oooooh supa' fast hot rod man...
I cannot get over how badass that was to see...my guess is: speeding, wreckless driving, possible DUI (it was Saturday night), exibition of speed, running a red light, assualting an officer, public endangerment, tow truck, chrome bracelets....hee hee hee

Pick Up it refers to a large vehicle with a loading dock in the rear, used mainly by rednecks, and some men feel they need the biggest one they can find to compensate.

OK. I wanna' clarify some things cuz I got RHEEMED for this post at NASIOC.

*First off, if anyone got the idea I was street racing from this, you are wrong. I was NOT racing the Mini or the P/U that almost hit the cop. We were simply zipping out of a parking lot into an empty street. It wasn't residential or full of traffic. Just two guys appreciating each other's cars and having a little fun.

*Second, 80mph in second is prolly wrong. Admittedly, because I was playing around in the car with my son in there, I was'nt paying much attention to the speedo, I was watching the road ahead. I did scream down the road REALLY friggin fast in second or third. I'll redline those gears tonight and edit later.

*Third, I have no idea what the P/U was doing or trying to do. I assume he wanted to show me what a badass he was by catching up to us. If I am correct he would have been hauling major ass for 3 - 4 blocks before catching us. By which time I was doing the speed limit.

*I, in no way, would have wanted to see the cop or anyone else get hurt by the idiot in the truck. I was glad he got caught though. It was one of those situations where you never thought you'd see it happen.

*And any fu**er that thinks I would do anything lame, like street race, with my son in the car ia gravely mistaken.

*NASIOC sucks. :tardbang:

I know bro. Just havin' fun. I hate two out of three SRT-4 guys in Tracy. Both SRT's are yellow, ick. The only bonus is that both cars will eventually be parted out on ebay cuz we all know teh yellow ones attract mishaps!
