I am so damn pissed off it is unbelievalbe. I have now bent one of my rims!!!!! It was on ball camp. Looked like they were doing utility work, and decided it was getting late and did not finish filling the ditch they dug accross the ENITRE ROAD. I hit this going around 45 mph and bent one of my front rims. I am filling out the paperwork right now for the claim. Mark my words, if I do not get any help, may god have mercy on their souls. Because all hell will break loose. If it takes a lawyer to fix this I will get one. This is the 2nd rim this year that I have bent becuase the fucktards that work for the city can not do their own damn job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone have any luck with these things, or tips, because I am still shaking from being so mad and it happened 45 mins ago. A new rim shipped will be $158.90

it is pretty damn annoying when they tear up the road and leave massive bumps from where it goes from unpaved to paved. they could atleast put a little ramp. they have been tearing up the area i live in and its really fucking annoying.

hope they dont mess around and get you squared away. i feel like im gonna bend my stock wheels when i go over them and i have stock 60 series tires.

Wow, bending a stock SRT rim is impressive. In a bad way. I've hit stuff hard enough to put big knots in the tires, and never bent one of the rims. And it's usually unmarked road contruction potholes. Get 'em for all they're worth. My old roomate got the city to pay for fixing the frame of his car after it BROKE from driving over some construction too many times.

(That car that the frame broke was like a '91 3 cylinder Metro...but hey)

I consulted a lawyer once for this same problem and I was told that it wont hold up due to the fact there was no way to prove that the street caused the damage. so in other words your screwed. Thoese warrenty's that the rim shops give you be a bunch of bullshi......

I got the police involved and talked to a guy from the utility board. He gave me a number and name to call this morning. He said " I'm sure your not the only wheel or tire we are replacing from this."

The problem is that when I went through there that morning, nothing was wrong. I came back through and there were no signs warning of a ditch in the road(it is 4" deep and about 24" wide and all the way accross the road)

Well after not getting a call back from the first guy, I went down to the main office on lunch. Talked to the assistant manager. He said I was about the 70th person today that he had talked to about it. Insured me their insurance would be getting ahold of me. He told me the guy before me was on a motorcycle and bent and busted both wheels and tires. And somehow did not lay the thing down.

That sucks :(

I bent one of mine slightly a couple of summers ago. I filed a claim, took pics of everything. A couple days later the pothole was filled in. And I never got the money for a new rim :(

If you get paid.. consider yourself lucky.

$150 is not worth getting a lawyer though.

When I bought my car the previous owner bent the inside lip of one of the rims just slightly driving it cross country when he moved here. He hit a big ditch that had no signs or whatever, and when he pulled over, he found that dent since the tire was flattening. I can't imagine why it would only be on the inside of the wheel though. He re-filled the tire with air and it amazing held all the way from somewhere around arizona to southern california. I took the car off his hands for $5000, down $750 from his asking price since it had high miles (92K), and a bent rim. Since then I've been driving my car into the ground, it's been holding up quite well. The wheel never gave me any problems so long as I kept it properly filled at 35-40psi. I replaced it anyway about 4 months ago and it just sits in my garage. Man, that just got me thinking, maybe I should have a rim shop fix it and sell it...

yo how old is your srt cant you go to the stealership and get a new one under warranty they claim bumper to bumper right its a factory part? unless they dont cover wheels and tires i know tires usually arent but a rim is factory issued try it? the worst that can happen is a NO. sorry man this sucks though i definatly understand.

That sucks so much dude, I have a bent rim also from city work. It's totally beat cause it's their fault for being incompitatnt (spelling is off) and not adjusting the roads right. Sorry about your bent rimage.
