this is why home owner assoc. are a joke:
The association in this 200-home subdivision 270 miles southwest of Denver has sent a letter to her saying that residents were offended by the sign and the board "will not allow signs, flags etc. that can be considered divisive."
The subdivision's rules say no signs, billboards or advertising are permitted without the consent of the architectural control committee.
I swear - you pay them tons of money per year and get WHAT? Harrassment, thats what. HOA's are for helping retain the value of your home in an entire neighborhood, not infringe on 1st amendment rights.
I am a proponent for the war as I am a supporter of the troops, I also have a brother in the military who served in Iraq. I do not see a peace sign as offensive, I actually see it as a good thing! We do need peace!

People take things way to seriously anymore and let things offend them too much or they don't really care but like to start stuff just to see their name on the news. Who knows... no one wants to offended anyone anymore so we change everything so it doesn't make anyone feel sad or hurt. People... well companies don't want to say Merry Christmas anymore b/c it might offend someone so they say Happy Holidays. Whatever... it's just dumb... let the lady hand her peace sign in her yard, does it physically hurt anyone, does it really case anyone any harm at all or annoy anyone that much to interfere with their daily life? I doubt it... Now if it played some stupid music that you could hear from your house where it was just annoying to you couldn't enjoy your piece and quiet, agree with her or not I'd be tellin her to shut it off. If someone is offended by just looking at it... don't look at it.

Now people of Christian faiths are taking offense because it's been 'Merry Christmas' for so many years and someone took it away. I'm offended by everyone and everything. Please nuke the planet.

At least we can be glad (for now) that none of it really directly affects us. You know?
I dunno what I'd do if some hippy, commie asshole put up a peace sign in my neighborhood. Ugh, the horror!
