About 56% of people in the US are Pro-Choice to be exact.

Come to Florida.. we need some elderly population control. We'll go on a Snowbird hunt.. They often hang out in large groups in the fast lane driving 20mph under the speedlimit, in large boat-like vehicles, yelling at people who have the nerve to pass them, or in the customer service line at a retailer complaining about an uncontrollable issue like "You sign is Blue, change it." They make an uncanny call that sounds like "Lemmie talk to your manager" or "I'm writing a letter." Most are afraid of technology so bring your laptops and other forms of "futuristic techno babble" and lets get on with the hunt!

Pro Life vs. Pro Choice

1st: Both those terms are terms used to cover up the facts of the debate - they are terms that each side has taken so as to not look bad or to make the other side look bad. Think about, we all value life, do we not? That would mean we are all pro life, yes? Plus, we all live in america where we have the freedom to choose whatever we want to do within the confines of the law, and even so we can still choose to do things that are considereed by law illegal. So we are all pro choice, yes? Lets rephrase the question like this:

Are you against legalized abortion, or are you in favor of keeping abortion legal?

I for one, am against the legalization of abortion as far as it is concerned for birth control. China has mandatory population control, whereas it is illegal to have a child. You have to get permission to have a child and then you can only have one. Go beyond that and you are caught, you are forced to abort the child, or if you have it you can get thrown in prison, fined, etc.

As far as what I consider to be legal abortion would be in cases where the mothers life is in danger, or where the child will be dead/still born anyway. Or even when the mother has been raped, incestized, etc. But this brings up my other point:

2nd: Who am I to decided what child should live and what child should die? I am not God, and I do not decided who is born and who does not get to be brought into this world. I believe in God, and I try to follow his decrees and word the best I can. I share with others about his gospel and try to spread the word so that others may see the light of the world. So it is not my choice to decide who lives and dies.

For those who do not believe in God, it is not a question of morals and values, because peoples value-systems vary. But consider this, which is a higher moral system, one who is considerate of others and their needs, who can make decisions not based upon consequences or who it effects and why, but does it because of the benefit of others knowing that to better mankind they must lead by example and try to follow a strong moral code - whether biblical or not. Or is it those who concern for themselves and only others when feel that they may gain from it better? What about those inbetween who do good because they want to, but do nothing to further morality?

Here is food for thought: in development of morals, psychologists have defined 3 stages of morality, with the highest being Level III Postconventional morality Stage 6 Universal Ethical Principal, defined as adhering to abstract principals of morality, including equality of all people, human dignity, preservation of life, commitment to justice. these transcend specific norms and rules. You obey and answer to a higher strong inner conscience and willingly disobey laws that violate your own ethical principals.

Guess what, few people ever reach that level of morality, such people could be described as, Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Buddha, and Jesus Christ.

Look, abortion simply defined is the termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival.

Wow, "incapable of survival" really sticks out, doesn't it? Then I guess an abortion is really a miscarriage, which is why a fetus would miscarriage, yes? It can be defined as the premature expulsion of a nonviable fetus from the uterus.

I guess when we abort a perfectly healthy fetus from the womb, we are inevitably the cause of that fetus not being "viable" or "incapable of survival".

Sad, personally, but my opinion is that I would never approve of my wife having an abortion, even if it meant loosing my wife, which my wife said she feels the same way - for if she has to die for another to have life, than the sacrifice is that of the greatest of all kinds; one who would risk their life for that of another, just like Jesus did for us on the cross. That is why I love her. Oh yeah, and she was supposed to be grotesquely deformed and was supposed to be still born and never able to survive. She was perfectly normal. Thank God her mother did not listen to the doctor else I would never have met her.

Thats funny someone brought up old people, babies and old people get the shaft, i have a coworker that put her grandparents in a home cause they dont want to deal with them and babies get put in a vacums/dumpsters cause people dont want to be bothered. One is the beginging of life the other is the end of life.. its funny how life works huh.
