BRR Curse hits again...*Small Update*

So I was rear ended this morning. My rear bumper is really scuffed and scratched up pretty bad. My plate is bent all to hell, and there's dents and ripples in the bumper.
She wanted to exchange information, but I was already on the phone with the police, so she got all huffy and walked back to her car.
The police show up, and he's looking at her registration and license and says, "This registration expired five months ago." So she went back to her car and got a current one, then he said, "This driver's license address doesn't match. Is this an old address?" She said yes, that she just moved, yadda yadda yadda. So he citates her and says that because there's less then $750 in damage it's non-reportable. And we just exhange information, such as name, make/model/year, plate number, policy number. So we do all that, and he tells me that when I file the claim with her insurance to let them know that there was an officer there and she was cited for it.
I get home, call her "supposed" insurance company and surprise surprise...they can't find her in their system. The policy number she wrote down is too long. They can't even find her by her name.
Call WSP again to say that she gave me false information, and was given to the trooper's voicemail with the incident number so now I'm just sitting here waiting for a call back from him.
I am sooooooooo pissed off right now I can't stop shaking. The only thing I can say that makes me feel a little better is that since I called the police and she was cited, they can track her down, and if she either has no insurance or gave me false information, she's in big trouble.
I'll upload pics when I calm down enough so I can even look at them.

i have a feeling that this will end up working out the best in the long for you...
since the officer has her info, she just screwed herself over HARDCORE.
Just give it time.

You're right. But it's hard to be patient with a bumper all scratched and gouged up. Considering I freak out when a flake of dust lands on her.
Now someone needs to find me an srt rear bumper, because I'm having no luck.

Cassi, I'm really sorry to hear about all this and like you said, with how you are about scratches and just anything on your car... ack!!
Like everyone said though, it should work out pretty good for you in the long run

Hopefully your neck or anything else isn't hurting but with under $750 in damage it doesn't sound like she hit you very hard.
Also, yah... she's pretty much screwed the pooch giving false info... sucks for her but eh, she deserves it.
Sorry to hear about all of this but it'll work out best for ya

Damn, I hate hearing about this kind of stuff. It sounds like everything should work out, cause she screwed herself pretty good.... it's just always a pain fighting the system. But...isn't your hubby a little helpful in these kinds of situations?
My wife and I got rearended in her ZX2 last 4th of July by a drunk dude...after he hit us, i was sure the back of the car was messed up pretty bad. Went back there...and there was only two little tiny scratches where his front licence plate bolts hit the bumper. Wasn't even worth messing with....and I could have swore from the way it felt that he smashed the whole bumper to pieces...

Thanks everyone. Still haven't heard back from the trooper. I'm hoping either today or tomorrow sometime. I really hope she just wrote down the wrong policy number and it's not that she doesn't have insurance period. Because I really don't want to pay for this out of my own pocket.
This sucks so bad, I don't even want to get in my car to drive. Not because of the damage (well a little bit), but mostly because it doesn't matter how careful and good of a driver you are, you can't stop people from doing stuff like this. I even slowed way down before I stopped, so that she would, and she did, but she never stopped. Thankfully, I don't get on the ass of the person in front of me, otherwise my front bumper would have been damaged, and then all hell would have broken lose since I just got the R/T front.

Time to get that lawyer and complain of neck pain.
Next time when there are questions about the other person's info call the number for their insurance and make sure it is correct. Don't wait until later. I did that when I got hit. Turns out it was a good thing I did that cause she didn't have insurance at the place she gave me and the cops really went to town on her.
I hope everything works out for you...I am headed to the junk yard tomorrow so I will take a look around for a decent srt rear.

Considering the police were involved and she was cited for it, I didn't feel the need to call her insurance company right at that moment as I figured she wouldn't try to pull anything. And there were no questions that arose about her information until after I called the insurance company. Otherwise I would have asked for more info and called right then and there.
I don't want to say yes or no on whether or not I've found a srt rear as to not jinx myself with the luck I'm having lately. But I'm still looking, found a few in junkyards across the states, but no one wants to ship.
I spoke with the trooper yesterday afternoon (he's been trying to get a hold of her..with no luck...go figure...) and I told him the information she gave me, well apparently she gave me a wrong name, or rather a different variation of her real name. So I called the insurance company AGAIN and this time used the name that she gave the trooper, and WALLA! They think they found her. The only other information I have on her is year make, model of her car, and license plate number (her insurance company is not able to look up by plate numbers..wish I could find someone who can..). And thank GOD I know cars, because all she wrote down for me was, "Poniac 2002". No joke...I'm not mispelling it either, that's all she wrote. I was able to identify her vehicle to insurance, but I have no other varifiable information (such as VIN, address). So they started the claim, but now they can't approve or deny it until they speak with her. Something tells me they won't...I'm going to guess there will be alot of messages left, and no returned calls. In which case, I'm back at square one.

I bet the living crap out of my car everyday. What's the fun of having a car if you get paranoid about driving it, parking it, owning it?
P.S.
You realize it's only a Neon, right?

I wonder if the local treasurer would be able to give you that info from the motor vehicle registration records. There are heightened privacy concerns with that now these days, but you were hit by that car! Perhaps the police could get her full info for you (address, VIN, etc.) if you can't get it yourself.

It seems that the 2 srt's that the junkyard had didn't have any bumpers...so no go from me. Sorry.
Good luck with finding her cause we all know that "her" insurance co isn't going to help you.

Thanks for looking. But actually they have been helpful. Considering they're not even sure if they have the right policy, they've started a claim. They're trying to get in touch with her to verify some information. But because of what she's already done, she won't answer her phone, or she'll deny it even happened.

Yes, the last time I checked my car was still only a neon. And I was talking about your car being the beater. It was thing called a joke, hence all of the faces after the comment.

Kind of like that.
I've called the trooper to ask if he could give me the VIN number from her vehicle registration so I could give it to the insurance company. But I haven't heard back from him yet.
I guess if you go down to our DMV for like 10 or 15 dollars you can get the registered owner's name and address of a vehicle if you have their plate number. But then I hear that in the state of Washington, you can't do that because of a privacy act. So I don't know.

Here I sit, playing the waiting game...

$750? BS, your muffler got damaged too, right?!
When I got rear ended recently (hit and run mind you) the total damage came out to $877. My tail lights were also leaking from the impact, since the bumper shifted them

, so my trunk carpet was all wet.

True i was just rear ended a few weeks ago and the damage really isn't that bad. I got quoted from the guys insurance company $1060 for it to be fixed. Now is it gonna cost me $1060 to fix it hell no probally a little more than half of that and then the rest is going towards buying me a DD 1st gen neon so my r/t doesnt rack up the miles. Make sure when the insurance adjustor comes out to look at your car you point out to him every little thing that is wrong to your car in the area that it was hit.
