So i got layed off!!!!

[rant]

Focking hate corporate America how can a company let a person go before Christmas like that is the grimiest thing ever. FOCK Costar.com and fock any job that doesn’t care enough to plan layoffs outside the holidays, at least I have enough saved for 3-4 months and I am getting unemployment but I have friends with kids and families that were struggling and isn’t as bless as me and now they have to tell there kids "sorry there is no Christmas this year" for me its just my pride more than anything. I have never been let go I normally bail before they shyt happens but this time I got hit first. Damn losers.. ugh.....

[/rant]

Thanks guys i just needed a shoulder to whine on!!!!

Sorry to hear dude... Good luck finding another job! I had an interview today for a job but have a strange feeling they want someone that has more advertising experience :-? Bah well... I'm sure you'll find something soon. Seems like companies aren't hiring right now so they can meet their year end budget. Really sucks since it is Christmas an all and people would like to have some money coming in to buy gifts and whatnot.

The rate we're going the site is going to be filled with a bunch of unemployed people

bullshit! man, that is bullshit!

Why would a company let you go 2 WEEKS before christmas?
This is why I despise corporate america sometimes... then again, I have a corporate job...

Good luck with finding something else man!

Wow, that really does suck. My mom works at the same place I do, but she's on day shift and I'm on nights. We work for a huge company (for our area) that makes products for the housing industry and it's been real shaky the last 6 months (like the whole housing industry). She was laid off 3 months ago and luckily I was able to stay working in the shipping department. The company has handed out bonus checks every quarter for the last 6 years (roughly) and the checks average around $400 / quarter... This quarter was the first time since they've started the bonus program that they haven't handed out a bonus check. It really sucks not getting the bonus check before Christmas, but at least I still have my job. I guess after seeing this I realize that I shouldn't be as greedy and I should be happy that I still have a job.

Screw corporate America, so freaking greedy. Anyways, sorry to hear about what happened. I wish I could help you with work but it's only a part-time job that I have...

Good luck with the job search; there's definitely plenty around Montgomery/PG counties.
