Post by boostinss » Sat Dec 30, 2006 11:13 am

Hey i just have a question about insurance. I just got my probationary license off (9 months after you get your license) and i have no tickets and i was wondering when my insurance will start dropping.

I don't know how it is in the States, but at age 17 in Canada, all I can say is HAHAhHHahHAHHAhahLOLLerskates.

Um, In Canada, you get a very slight drop when you get your full license, and don't really get a large noticeable drop til age 25. I have seen a few drops over the years, partially from shopping around, and from keeping a clean record.

It might vary state to state, but not sure. 21 it will drop some..but once you hit 25, it goes down substantially.

It drops NEVER. Keep a clean slate, and when you turn 25, you can start shopping for lowest insurance. Before that just Ben Dover.

You might see like a 10 dollar drop and when you are 18 you will see another one. After that when you turn 21 it will drop about 300 dollars and when you are 25 it will go down a lot. I am paying less for my SRT now than I was for my 00 neon 2 years ago.

Got to keep the record clean though

Shopping around won't help if you've got bad credit, unless you find someone who doesn't rate based on credit.

Also, drive as if your life depends on you not claiming on insurance and buy the absolute minimum required by law (and the lienholder, if there is one). Then, you can pocket the savings!

Obey all the traffic laws - or at least plea bargain your way down to a non-moving violation when you get a ticket.

If you go to school - get good grades! There are good student discounts for those who keep a B average or better.

my insurance was just as cheap 10 years ago(age 20), as it is now(age30). That "once you turn 25" shiat didnt' lower my insurace any, but luckily for me, my insurance has always been cheap from the get-go.

TD(toronto dominian bank) insurance. It used to be Liberty mutual before TD bought them out. Obviously its a canadian company, so that won't help you out unfortunatley

I've really been thinking about getting married to a friend just for the record... but that'd make income taxes harder :(
