yeah, so i wanna start a "Send TNK to Carlisle '08" fund... i REALLY wanna go. its a 1 day and 15 hour drive, id use all 5 of my vacation days and try for 7-9 days off, depending on how the weekends fall, and make the drive straight thru both ways. i figure a rough guess on gas alone, and it'll be around $500. no, i really dont expect anytone to give me any money, especially this soon, but if i did send up a "fund" would anyone be intereested in helping a DIE HARD Neon lover out?

yes i am aware that this year is 07. my vacation tiem is almost gone already. so im planning to use all my vacation next year to make the road trip. i really wanna make a road trip. i dont want to fly. i want to drive the car there. i want pics with all you mother fuckers. i would have such a good time OMG.....

your thinking of driving 39 hours straight through. i hope there will be someone you trade off driving duties with.

there was one time i got up at ~6:30a to go to work, went to work all day. then went to class. got home at about 8:30p. loaded up everything and left for a 6 hour trip. this turned into a 7 hour trip. pulled into the destination at about 4a. so i had been up for almost 20 hours. i was beat. i barely made it. i felt my self nodding off. i had a good bit of caffeine in me. i was eating sunflower seeds (helps more to keep you awake than you think) and i scared myself a few times.

seriously reconsider driving all the way through in one shot.

Yeah, that's a long drive, buddy. And a LOT of gas money. I'll be able to throw a few dollars your way at some point within the next 18 months.

I'm with racer12306 on this one, 36 hours is a long drive and doing it strait there is no way in hell you would ever be able to do it alone. I did 14-15 hours last year to Dallas in one day and overall it wasn't too hard but just the length of being in the car having to keep your eyes on the road makes it hard.

I've done the whole work a full day then leave work to drive 6-7 hours a few times now like to Howells Open House and various other trips and yah... thats even though. It's a hell of a lot of fun but it can be tough staying awake. I usually keep a few cans of RedBull or some other energy drink with me to drink every few hours to help but you still have to fight it sometimes.

Someone needs to setup some sort of West Coast 2GN meet for '08 so it gives me a really good reason to drive out there b/c I really want to see the west again as I haven't been out there since I was a kid. Going to Vegas when you're only 14 or 15 years old isn't all that fun

You should rent a flatbed and truck the car there- save miles on it anyway. I can throw a little cash your way (not right this minute since I am broke!)- it would be worth it to be able to with my cane in reality, not just virtually.

im sure i can figure out somethign as far as a 2nd driver. i just KNOW i want to make the trip. i woul dhave such a blast. i LOVE driving. and i LOVE my car. so put the 2 together and i will be a happy camper.

the most i've driven was 32 hours straight... it was rought and scary at some points

Official 2gn.org west coast meet FTW. I need a reason to see Cali. Washington, Oregon and California are the only continental states I haven't been to yet.

If we had a meet out on the west coast, with enough notice, I'd try and make my way out there.

Back in 2000, I went out to Colorado for my cousin's graduation and had a blast, love it out there. Have a friend out in Vegas I'd like to visit as well.
