Only 3 of those will ever be colleciable
1.) NSX
2.) Viper
3.) Elise
The only reason is that those cars are the only ones that we look up to today. I would sell body parts for any of those cars. Dont count out our cars either we if you look at it all own the modern equivlant of challengers/'cudas my breakdow
AAR=ACR
R/T=R/T
HEMI=SRT4
Then there are the shelby dodges.

a Smart car was on the list?
yea.. you can take this list with a grain of salt cause they have no idea what they are talking about

In 1971, no-one would have guessed that a stock Plymouth muscle car would ever be worth millions of dollars.
That's the whole point. I bet every one of those cars will be collectible to some degree. I mean heck, a '67 Slant-6 Dodge Dart is a collector car now....that was just a regular car back in the 60's. Didn't make waves at all...

It's flattering that the only American cars on their list are CG products.
[start rant]
I think that SRT-4s will be very collectible in 10-20 years due to their being the modern equivalent of, say Duster 340s, Road Runners, 'Cudas, Challengers, etc. That is, if any manage to survive. It breaks my heart to see all of the pic posts of wrecked and riced-out SRTs and also knowing how hard some of these poor cars have been driven. I am not saying that mods are bad or that these cars don't beg to be really put to the test. But so many have been sent to early graves and there won't be any more when these are gone, folks.

Yah, I'm mean seeing as how it was a pretty unique car for those few years and that it didn't last very long... I really think that would be something that could turn into quite the collector. Hell you hardly ever see one on the streets and if you do, man, even if they are all Autos and pretty slow I still think they're awesome to look at just for how different they are compared to every other car on the road. Another car I'd really love to own just to cruise around with the top down.

CRX will never be a "collectors car"...
I do think when I hit up the states I'll be looking for a clean DD CRX though

Id like to see a collector truck list...
I have an early production 1989 chevy short bed/extended cab 'survivor'. For those who dont know, '89 was the first year for extended cab short beds, '88s were all long beds. And prior to that, there were no chevy extened cabs, save for the few custom made ones. 360k miles and still running like a top. And look how common/popular they are now.

Well for people like me (TD geeks) I am very happy that the shelby supersnake went for $5,000,000 earlyer today. Next time I see that GLHS I'll try a little harder to talk him out of it.

A prowler has always been one of my dream cars. I've wanted one ever since I could remember.
I've only ever seen one here in Toledo, and it's far from slow to say the least.

Same here and every time I see one on the road which is always once in a blue moon they always look so amazing. They're usually on eBay for fairly cheap and I've just always loved the looks of them, they're just so different to look at from anything on the road.

That's what I've always gone for too Jason. I love how the Prowler looks NOTHING like any other car on the road.
I've never been one for a car going fast, just looking good. And god do those cars look good.

One of my friends dad has bothkinds of cars - the 67 dart and a 71 hemi cuda :drool:
And here is my problem with there little "list":
Last year, the company began routinely asking its roughly 50,000 customers to guess which of today's common consumer vehicles they thought might be hot collectibles decades from now
Who did they ask, 50,000 people who live in suburbia america making 100k+ a year and drive HUMMERS and suv's, ma and pa who work for a living their fingers to the bone and scrape and save each month just to get by and drive a beater, maybe the inner city where only one single income family with 3 kids and they maybe just take the bus and dont own cars.... these kind of things matter!!! Besides, these type of "polls" are in no way a good clue of anything other than what people find "hot" now.
I would say there are some cars from 20 yrs ago that are becoming collectors now; maybe a daytona, or the t-bird sc/tc or perhaps the 5.0 stang conv... what about olds cutlass'? Or maybe even some new cars like the 99 mitsu eclipse gsx - rarer and rarer to find in stock form and good shape, already well over priced for a 8yr old+ car... or good cond acura type-r's... civic si's, or 95 nyg acr's... see, the list is biased in so many ways...

ok, Im through, sorry.
