Almost got a total of 8 tickets tonight...

Post by boostinss » Sat Feb 03, 2007 4:13 am

So my friend and i make plans to hangout with these girls tonight. I am 17 with no restrictions on, my friend is 16 and only has his temps. The girls were going to hangout with dont have there temps even. So my friend Brian wants to drive and i kno he is a very good driver so i let him. It is 1AM in the morning and we snuck out of my house. So we go to these girls house and pick them up cuzz they had to sneak out also. So we go and chill at this park and ride thingy for about an hour then we decide were hungry so we go to Mc. Donalds. My friend is still driving and after going through the drive through we stop to eat in the parking lot. After were done eating my friend starts the car and forgets to put the head lights on. As we drive down town a cop car pulls out behind us and flips its lights on. We all freak out because first of all my friend driving doesnt even have his licence, its 2AM in the morning, all of us are under 18. Cop comes to the door and asks for all our licence's. my friend and i both give him our licence and he walks back to his car. We are freaking out about how im gunna get my car take away from my parents, grounded forever for letting my friend drive that doesnt even have his licence....My friend is freaking out becuase he could lose the privlage to get his licence until he turns 18..the Girls are freaking out because there parents dont kno they snuck out expecially with older guys. We all were breaking curfue 2. So the cop walks back up to the car and says hes gunna cut us a break and only my friend is getting a ticket for driving without a licence. It was only a $109.00 ticket when really we could of all ended up with atleast one and my friend driving could of easily gotten 4-5 tickets.

I might go buy this cop a dozen dounuts.

*sigh* live and learn i guess

lesson 1:
dont sneak out and take your parents car without permission.

lesson 2:
dont let your underage friend drive a car that doesnt belong to you

lesson 3:
dont go pick up some underage girls and take them for a ride past curfew get pulled over risk almost everything and not get any ass from them.

you woulda thought common sense woulda kicked in. but hey it was 2am and you had no headlights on and didnt know.

So did you learn your lesson? Because he might not be so nice to you next time, or the next one that pulls you over. Especially if he logged it that he gave you guys a warning.

You just better be carefull next time.

I'm pretty sure he will either start getting letters in the mail from lawyers and the points might show up on the next insurance thingy.

I thought your friend doesn't even have a license.

That would of sucked if you all would of gottten in an accident, because you didn't have your headlights on.

So you bought the car for yourself in cash?

uh when his insurance SKYROCKETS they will know  I once got a ticket doing 75 in a 35 (yeah, fast, eh???) when I was 16 and the cop dropped it down to 55 in a 35, but said next time he is taking me to jail. I decided to pay for it instead of just get a lawyer, tell my dad, etc... so instead I screwed up my insurance for 3 years - dad was PISSED. I am surprised that I was still alive after that.

Take it from the old guys here, and this is NOT talking down to you. You got off pretty easy that time, which personaly I do not think you should have - I see that you made a decision, and it was stupid, then you got caught, and then "got away" with it, for the most part. Were you my kid, had I known you snuck out, you would be sleeping in my room for a week as your punishment. Next time you think about doing something that you know is no good, but think you will get away with it, remember this incident, LEARN from it, and please, don't do it... why? Because it builds something called discipline, integrity and character.. blah, I know, so what - but that is the stuff that makes you a mature adult.

Sorry I sound like an old man, and your dad, but guess what - I am both (just not your dad). My son is only 6 years younger than you. Glad noone got hurt or killed, or taken to jail and had their records tarnished, please learn though :D 8)

No my parents bought the car..so i guess it is my parents car legally but its mine for driving.

And yes i have learned a lot from this. This is the first time ive actually came in contact with the police..im for the most part a goody goody...

Im not sure what my friend is planning on doing if hes gunna tell his parents or not.

oh and my friend has his "Temperory Licence" the one where u have to have an adult drive with you..not 3 other kids..haha..

Theres a curfew in your town for teens? lol, thats funny. What ever happened to it being the parents responsibility.

All i can say is just don't fuck up again, or you will lose a good thing you have going with your parents.

I did a lot of stupid shit when i was a teen, and it wasn't until after college i was able to gain back my parents trust.

And how old were these girls? If they're younger than you and you're friend, best be careful with that. That could be another charge that could end up ruining your life.

You're lucky though, but it sounds like you've learned your lesson... I hope.

I always put on my seatbelt and turn the headlights on before turning the key. Tickets for those two things are VERY VERY avoidable but easy to forget.

Hes not that good of a driver if he forgets to turn the lights on in the middle of the night. I wouldnt let him drive my car if/when he had a real drivers license.

Lucky for you the cop was nice enough to let you off the hook that fast. Hopefully lessons are learned. As long as nobody gets hurt , no alcohol involved, or anything like that, then it's better. :P

Driving is a privilege, which is also a necessity. I'm saying that 'cause I walked to school, no car or license, until I finished high school.
