Good way to mount a camera to vehicle?

Post by yellowpatrol » Sat Feb 10, 2007 6:49 am

I'm trying to find a good way to get a camcorder mounted inside the car, with as little permanent damage to the car as possible. What do you think?

find a way to hook it to your headrest so then you can remove it fairly easy and you'd have a drivers eye view of the action on the road. :D

Inside- jam it in the headrest.
But go outside, and get:

Nah I don't really want an outside view when the weather is as shitty as it is here. Plus I don't want to look like a freak. I was also thinking about the passenger side head rest as you guys said, but I don't know how exactly to get a steady shot and mount it securely.

I would try and find a spare headrest, remove the fabric and then using the frame inside it, make a camera mount that could just slide into the factory holes on the seat.

You can easily mount this unit on an inside window.... I have had it there but did not take photos and if you want me to get you photos now you better send me 20 bucks because it is like 2 degrees.

Go check out the Stickypod website. :o

Oh and by the way, I am not a freak, thanks though... :(

I just bought a Sticky Pod Original. This is so cool, I've been looking for something like this for a really long time but everything I've found was way to much money! I should have it sometime this week, so next weekend I'll be filming!

LOL sorry dude, I didn't mean to say that you were. I didn't know they would mount inside. I just didn't like the idea of a huge tripod on my door or roof :?

I do like the idea of getting a spare headrest. Is there a trick to removing the headrest entirely? Because I can only get it to come up 2 clicks.
