Anyone want an Oink invite?

*If you know what Oink is and what torrents are skip to the bottom*

If you don't know, Oink is a torrent site for music/audio books/ebooks/mac and pc software. It is a private tracker meaning you can only get in by being invited by a friend. The community also uses a ratio to keep usage fair. So for example, if you downloaded an album that was 56megs, you would need to upload 56 megs again by either seeding the album you downloaded (and having someone download it from you) or uploading your own album.

The site has strict restrictions on what can be uploaded. For example, you can ONLY upload an album if it has a VBR of 192 or higher. There are other bit rates allowed (which are higher quality), but no duplicates of the same bit rate for each album is allowed. Many other restrictions apply. This generates a high quality music collection that actually sounds good.

If you're interested, post in here and I'll pick someone out. Please take the following issues into consideration:

1. Your account is a direct reflection of me. So if you fuck up and get banned, I get my invites revoked or worse. So don't fuck up.
2. You should understand how BT works including seeders, leechers, flow of bandwidth, share ratios, and other workings.
3. You should know the various differences between a lossless and lossy audio file and the various formats (.m4a, .mp3, .flac) AND bit rates (192-320 vbr, cbr, abr and so on)
4. Be able to port forward and turn your client to a "clever" user otherwise you may never get a ratio that's worth a balls. Read an Azureus FAQ about this.
5. Be capable of taking 10 minutes and reading the rules and faq. Ignoring a rule once can instantly get you banned for life. Seriously.

I have one invite left, but if someone joins and donates 5-10 bucks, they get two invites, and we could start trickle down invites if people are interested.

If you're cool with all that and think you would contribute well to the community, reply or PM me. It's a solid community, I believe over 1 million users. Also a quick donation will keep your account from being cut off from non usage (not using the account for a few weeks). I donated 10 euros ~ 13 bucks and change and received 2 invites.
