So apparently Neons are expensive to fix.

I've never been in an accident, and consider myself a very good driver. So what happens to every good driver? Someone hits their car in a parkinglot.
This happened to me on Tuesday. I was in class giving a presentation on how illness affected the story of Ethan Frome

and two Campus Patrol Officers knocked on the door and asked for me. *Which was kinda cool 'cause I got to cut my speech short*
So anyways, I don't have any pictures of it due to my camera being permadead, but basically some chick in a big SUV backed into my rear wheel-well and dented it in and scraped paint all over.
So the estimate (by a friend of mine's shop) was $938 and change.
I was surprised, but I guess with all the detail work needed I can understand it. That and she banged up my door handle too.
Just when I was gonna put it up for sale too

Wow that sucks, I really don't know about 938$ dude, unless you can get some pics. Sorry about that. What are you planning on selling her for?

She's a slow ATX, and I've recently bought a new project car for myself to build up.

Rear quarter panel damage is expensive. Can't replace it like a front quarter. Usually involves a lot of cutting, welding, and filling/smoothing.

Well I'll try to find someone with a camera that I can borrow, 'cause I'm honestly surprised it cost so much. It's no where near as bad as the red one up there, it's just one maybe 2"x2" dent with some chipped paint. And some paint smudges on the bumper too.

What body shop are you going to? I was rear-ended last March, and the impact damaged the bumper, bent up the muffler, and caused my driver's seat to recline too far. I got it all fixed for just under $1700 (at the other guy's expense, of course).

I had a $700 bill for one little bitty ding in the rear bumper, right below the license plate... some old man backed into me and his bump stops pushed in my bumper... his insurance paid for it, but still - 700?! Yeah, I took it to the dealer.

To get my door fixed is 600.00
so yeah no car is cheap when it comes to body damage unless you do it yourself.

WOW! I had no damage to any of the car other than cosmetic, and it cost almost as much! Oh, and I took it to Maaco. I was pretty unhappy with them too, because they first took 3 weeks when they said one, blended it a different shade of red that didn't match the rest of the car, except the door which they repainted also... Then when I picked it up I didn't really notice until I got it home and saw it in the sunlight the next day. I took it back to them and they took another 3 weeks to get it fixed because they kept doing stupid stuff like getting smudges in the paint and having to start all over. Oh, and they got some white powder crap all over my subs and in my trunk.

at first i thought they staind my trunk, i was like wtf were the doing in my trunk like that, but then i ran my hand over it and the dust moved.

Yeah it reeked so bad for the first week or so. It was a melted plastic-y smell. I got an air freshener just for that reason. I'm just glad the dust didn't F up my subs since the box is ported.

Had that same kind of dust from what they tell me is to catch over spray while spraying then they can wipe it off with another type of stuff so there paint other then where they want.
However this could be total BS idk the shop could have been cya'in itself

^^^ Look's like your car was struck by a gigantic butter knife... It's thin, height-wise, and looks like it was dull and trying to cut through your car like roll at Thanksgiving.
