So RMP has been green lighted in my home town of Atwater, CA.
3 years after I moved, and 6 years after the original idea was proposed. Kinda sucks for me but awesome for my home town.
Check out the website.

Looks amazing.

Nothing, really, but compared to that..
Oh and it's like 324873984 dollars for a cheeseburger there.

Itll still probably never be built. All the orchard owners around the site are taking them to civil court since the county approved the project. The Sun Star has been doing what it does best, and bringing up everything the RMP founder has ever done wrong or questionable, out of context, to make him look as bad as possible. Here I am like 2 miles from where that track is supposed to be, and Ill probably never actually get to see it break ground, let alone race on it.

I lived about a a half mile from the entrance to Castle AFB. You could actually see the Air Musem from my back yard. (Shaffer Lakes East, by Peggy Heller)
Atwater is so funny, I remember when NASA wanted to use the base for testing horizonal take off of the shuttle, but the old fuddy duddies in the City Council went ape shit.
This project will drive so much money for a dump town in the middle of nowhere. People would TRAVEL to ATWATER for a reason other than to get to Modesto.
Eh.. Thats Merced County though, they do whatever it takes to avoid change. Look how long it took them to break ground on the University. It's been 6 years since RMP was proposed and it'll probably be another 2 years before ground will break. Maybe I'll be able to drive on it one day.. maybe

You know it. Good ole Merced county, it took 7 months for me to get my county job too... but atleast now I have a belt of toys and tin.
Eh. Im just glad we still have the runway for autoX... for now. Cuz if Southwestern really does move maintanece out here, we'll loose that too and not have anywhere to race.

Its been fully shut down since 95/96. The building that looked most like a castle by the main gate was the O club... which has been torn down, like most of the other buildings out there, for several years.
I was just out there last week, its still kind of sad to see it how it is now and remember how it use to be.
