this is kinda weird but....hahaha.
alright so im driving doing about 75 in a 65 and i see a motorcycle cop up a head trying to get on his bike under this bridgeway thing. i can see him wobbling with his legs trying to get it push started.
i see him so i slam on my breaks (he is facing same way i am, trying to get back road)
i slam my breaks and im probabaly going 67 by the time i pass him.
he slowly gets on his bike and then catches up to me while im doing 65 now (of course)
he pulls me over asks for my shit, i give...he says i was doing 84 in a 65....YEAH RIGHT HAHA.
(a little info, my dad is in the passanger seat, i had to pick him up from airport)
my dad goes " ask him to see the radar "
he comes back and i nicely say " if its not too much to ask can i see the radar and the clocked time you got me doing "
he stares at me blank faced and goes " huh? " and i repeated myself.
he then goes " why do you want to see it?" i go " uhh there is no way i was doing 84" he goes " how fast were you going then? " and i reply with " 67 while passing you "
and he goes " no you cant see it, you can tell them what you just said in court though "
hmmm....isnt in my rights to be able to see my speed on the radar? haha...he probabaly didnt really clock me. there is no way.
i have to go to court april 30th though. bleh. i havent had a ticket in 4 years, it will get dropped. i just think it was stupid. fucking lying cops.

It will get thrown out if he even shows up. LAME!

That sucks that you said 67 though. Here in MA, anything you say can be used as evidence in court(admission of guilt). If that's the case in your area, then unfortunately he tricked you by asking how fast you thought you were going.
Still sucks though. Cops have been annoying me lately with my exhaust. Funny how I don't have a ticket for it yet, but it's "illegal".

Cops can be gay at times
Read your ticket and see if it says that he got you on radar.
If not then he prolly wont even show up to your hearing.

ive had that happen to me b4. rite when the cop came back to my car for me to sign the ticket i asked to see the gun. he goes back to the car, then comes back bout 2 mins later and tells me to have a nice day.
your ticket should get thrown out, thats some bull $hit. here in midGA theres a 10 mile plea so we can go up to 10 mph over and get the ticket thrown if we get 54 na 45

haha, thats pretty funny though... the best part is that you have a witness.
i tried the same thing once and the judge said told me not to take it personal, but that he was gonna take the work of a police officer first.

Well I just got back from court myself for a B.S reckless driving ticket, got it reduced down to a speeding ticket only because in the report I said that I thought I was going 55 in a 45.
They trick you by asking you how fast you were going, next time just don't say anything, it's your right.

well since this is a good place for a sweet crappy cop story
heres my friends story
Info: my friend shawn drives a black f150 and it was his dads work truck.. his dad lightly hit something a while back and cracked the tail lightand the back fender which is rusted by now..
so shawn and brian are in his truck at a dinner with a tv in the bed
they go to leave and the tv falls out ;only hitting the parking lot, it hit no cars; so when it breaks obviously it makes a large sound...
well they are like eh whatever free tv it broke so who cares... they leave... on our main highway this guy is like right on their ass... so shawn got out of his way and the guy just kept following him even at 100mph.....sooo
shawn takes the back way by our highschool and hits a road block, they see his truck and the police officers get out and some what rush (they didnt rip him out of the vehicle or ne thing) and start questioning him about a hit and run
my friend was like no i didnt hit anyhing
and the cop pointed out the dented fender
ahaha so my friend was like "its rusted rabbit"
soo they are there for like 45mins and my friend shawn gets a ticket for
reckless driving
hit and run
i think it was because he mouthed off ahahah and becasue of his past history (we got introuble for stealing would to build a half pipe) but yea its a funny story and it is kinda lame he got stuck with the hit and run
thats it

Most places don't have to show you. But with a witness you should be able to get it down to the 75 you were going. Although then they might just through it out at that point. the 67 is irrelevant as that is not why he pulled you over.
My first and only speeding ticket was for 79 in a 70. Admitted to the cop for 80 which we BOTH knew I was doing. Out of state plates and not passing anyone what 'ya going to do. At least it was only $100 no the $350+ for the next mile per hour.

FYI: That is the same in EVERY state in the union
The Miranda rights we are read when arrested - "you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law"
I must say that the cop was WAY out of line. You have a right to see the radar. Any evidence presented against you and is admissible against you, you have a right to it. That sucks, I hate crooked cops - or even worse a crooked judge. Good luck with the court date!

Pays to have a lawyer as a friend. I've been pulled over and ticketed at least 10 times and have not paid a dime or gotten any points on my license.
I know in indiana if you ask to see the radar they have to show you.

Cops used to screw with me in MA too when I had my Cherokee.... I even had one of Phillipston's finest pull me over for a blue neon in my hatch that was mounted on my subwoofer box. He heard my exhaust (Flowmaster 50 series and Magnaflow Cat) and proceeded to tell me that any aftermarket part is illegal in MA (Bullshit), and he could write me a ticket for it. But yeah anyways here in TX they have to show you the radar when you ask for it.

While pulled over on the side of the road you have
NO right to see the radar. If you contest the ticket and take it to court you can subpoena the maintenance records and radar tests. However, once again, while on the side of the road you have no legal right to demand to see the radar.
Atleast in WA state.

but will the cop really bring the radar report or whatever? my lawyer subpeanoed (sp?) for that and the tapes from all the vehicles that pulled me over (3 state troppers) and the tapes were mysteriously 'missing'. i ended up paying like $75 for somethiing i didnt do...but thats a story thats posted on here somewhere and takes way too long to type out

Oh, I didn't say it will be there for sure. I was just saying that is the only way that you can legally request to see it. On the side of the road at that moment in time you have no right to see it.

Same here.
Also, lets not forget there are atleast 3 other ways to determine a vehicles speed without using a radar gun or laser.

Bingo..... The only time any evidence HAS to be presented is in court. Been through this WAAAAAY too many times. I'm from the city of racial and vehicle profiling. If you are black and in a white neighborhood after a certain hour... you get pulled over. Or if you have a "tricked out car" (those are exactly what the cops called it) and you are in a "questionable" area you will get pulled over regardless of the situation. After a few times of this with my Civic I started demanding seeing the evidence that I was getting ticketed for..... needless to say there was none, but thats when I learned that you can only be provided evidence of your crime in court.
Good luck getting it dropped though. You need to read the ticket. If the cop did not write that you stated you were speeding at 67 then you have the chance to take it to court and plead Not Guilty to the charge of speeding. But remember..... if you go to court you will have to say NO that you were not speeding.... not even 67. Because at this point you ARE guilty of speeding, just not how fast he is saying. If you tell the judge that, they are not going to care and give you the ticket anyway.... perhaps lessen the fine, but you'll still get it. Request a trial and plead Not Guilty. Then they'll send for the officer. Put it on him to show up. I had to do this 4 times and every time the officer wouldn't show. After each case was continued twice I'd tell the judge it was taking my valuable time yada yada and they would throw out the charge. Just my .02

I just got fucked leaving my neighborhood yesterday. I hadn't even been driving for 3 mintues. A cop was next to me at the light. I looked over at him and saw him put his seatbelt on. Then As I turned left at the next light he flips on his lights and says "You didn't have your seatbelt on back there"
WTF?!@ I always wear my seatbelt! Not wearing one is stupid!
So I say "Thats bullshit, officer, I always wear my seatbelt, its stupid not to!" So he says "Well, let me get your license and registration" I give it to him and he comes back with a ticket for $35. God dammit. At that point I said "Well, I watched you put your seatbelt on at the light." As he's walking away he says "I know you did."
WTFD?!@#EQ@E!! I'm not going to court because I'll lose time on it, but I'm sure that whoever gets my check is gonna have taint sweat on their hands.

i say fight that shit.
tell them that you WERE weariong it, and that you watched the cop put his on before he pulled you over, becasue he wasnt wearign his own damn seatbelt.

It's not worth my time, its a $35 ticket. If I go to court, I'll lose alot more than that.

if it is non-moving violation then don't go to court... if it is a moving violation GOTO court!!!! $35 and then the F-in insurance companies take a dip....
Besides, they have to prove they you weren't wearing one.

I did that. The judge yelled at me. I wasn't speeding for once, and that's why I yelled at the idiot cop. The judge was not pleased and even though the cop LIED, I got my 2 points.
And always say you were doing the speed limit. 67/65 is technically speeding.
