RIP to a friend

Post by SILVER-ES » Mon Mar 26, 2007 2:55 pm

I just found out that a guy I used to work with at Costco died last night in a motorcycle collision. He was a great guy, used to work with him every morning. He was so full of life and energy all the time, even when we would get to work at 3am. He was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. My mom knew him as well because after I left Costco she got a job there. His girlfriend used to manage the local gym and is also a good friend of one of my mom's friends. They were planning their wedding for this June. :(

The collision was his fault, he made a poor choice, but that doesn't lessen the impact on everyone who was around him. Everyone just be careful out there, that thrill of going fast is not worth your, or anyone elses, life.

My thought and prayers are with his family as well as the people injured and their families.

Today was the funeral. It didn't really hit me until today. Granted I hadn't talked to him since I left Costco, but he was one of those people that once you met him you could never forget him, which was very apparent by the sheer amount of people that came.

The pastor said something that will stick with me forever. He touched on the fact that Mario made a very poor choice that night on his bike. Mario made a choice thinking of only himself, if Mario had realized how it would effect everyone else he would of realized that in spirit EVERYONE was on that bike with him.

Definately puts the whole stupidity of street racing/speeding into perspective. Be careful out there, those few seconds of pleasure are not worth what could happen.

RIP Mario

Thanks everyone. I'm fine, I just can't imagine what his fiance/parents must be going through.
