me i wouldn't just cause of the work i'd already put into it. but if the magnum is something you really want then go ahead but a str8 trade up would never happen cause with your car being modded the dealership won't be able to warranty it cause they couldn't gaurantee on the parts. but if you are going to do it take your new rims and tires off like already said.

GOOD LUCK!

Hmm well If I took off the rims what would you say the value of my car is towards the r/t ?
I want the r/t because I miss the 5 spd, and what better then the r/t :)
Would it be better to sell my car privately ?
If so how much would you sell it for ? Look at my garage for mod list

with the amount of miles you have on it the car alone is worth about 3500 to 4000. i bought mine for 4200 w/73000 on it. so if you sell it on the street you'd probally get 3500 at the most with the mods. unless you find a die hard neon guy. or in any case see if you can get the rt with out trading the other. and is the 01 payed off cus thats something else to look at. all in all the decision is basically what you want to do if your financial status can support another car payment unless your buying it st8 out cause you not gonna get an even trade no way. just explore your options. :)

The white one is paid off right now.. and the kbb of prvate partty is 5,300 then
If your selling to some1 who knows the stuff thats in it.. you can add 400 - 500 for the exhaust
100 - 200 for the intake 200 for the system in it and the tires and rims dont have over 500 miles on em.. so you can add about 750-800 there

5,300
1,550
---------
6,850

Thats the realy value of everything If i sold It Private party.
So what do you think a dealer would accept knowing its easier to sell an automatic. the car + $ ?.??

There is a sucker born every min but you'd be pressed to get 6,850 for your car.

Its 6 years old has 76k miles on it even if they know whats in the car its still a used modified neon.

If you really want the R/t take the rims and wheels off the AEM/tails and borla. Sell the AEM cause I don't think it will work with the R/T. Trade the white neon in for the r/t and put the wheels and borla on the r/t even the tinited tails.

Or hope you can sell the car to another 16 or 17 year old kid.

I love my neon I drive her till the wheels fall off but for if I had 6,800 to spend on a used car it wouldn't be on another neon.

sorry to break it to you.....aftermarket parts don't up your value of your car....yes someone might pay extra for stuff you have on your car, most will not. me personally when i look at cars at dealers i tell them they need to lower the price b/c the car was altered changed from stock. You never know what kind of parts it is, who did the installs, if it passes inspection, yada yada yada.....so i'd expect to get lower than what it's "valued" and also you should know neons are one of the worst cars with re sale values

:withstupid: Amen bother! They flooded the market with them to rental car companies (thanks Doge!) so our cars are among the top 10 worst resale value cars on the planet. If you want that R/T bad enough then I say sell all the aftermarket stuff you can and THEN trade it in. Dealers could care less about what work, time, and money you've put in as long as they can sell it at auction for more than what they give you! Otherwise swap out some parts and make your own.I think in the long run the pride level of your accomplishments will be worth more.

Well to make my car satisfy me I'd want to swap a 5spd into the car.. But how much would this cost ? with all parts and how much labor. I'd then get a srt4 conversion and paint the bad boy :)

But Does any1 know how much it would cost for a 5spd set up ?

I read that a rule of thumb for a modified car is 10% of the cost of your mods minus labor added to total of stock vehicle value...which isn't much...which is why I say at least keep your wheels. I wouldn't expect more than $5,000 private sale. Check Kelly Blue Book .com. Dealers won't give anything for mods, just car value. I personally wouldn't buy a modded car unless extensive maintenance and install records were with it.
I think my point was see what the dealer will give you and weight that against conversion cost. Sorry to ramble!

no its all good opinions ..
All this week transmissions are $35 at the local yard.
And I live about 2 mins walking distance away from a transmission shop which my family is good friends with.
I'm gonna go talk to him right now about it.

And for the r/t I guess I'm just gonna call and see what he says and if not then o well.

Yeh I'm not gonna turn back now i'm just gonna keep goin with my car :)
I'm gonna go to the local yard and see whats there and hopefully
there will be a 01 with a 5spd with everything and computer pedals
clutch and what not. "Hopefully" If there is one there then I will
Drop it out and just have the garage swap it then Instead of
switching this and that and giving away my money to the dealer
I can have my 5spd for probly under $100 And Labor.
Then from there get the srt conversion
Also Any1 know where you can get a srt conversion front/sides And
How much it costs ? Im just planning ahead

Thanks for all the advice
