"I hate being broke" official rant
All I can say is it's all my fault. School and work is starting to wear me out and the semester ends in a month, thank you God.
-I owe the "great" state of Maryland $100 in taxes.
-Credit card, car payment and insurance are coming up next week.
-Gas price is going up and it's not helping.
-Going out for dinner? Fuhgedaboutit.
I'm gonna have to pawn my Sony headunit in my car and sell some
of my CDs. Anyone wants a Sony Xplod CD unit? Wiring and remote included, lol.
Once May rolls around I swear I'm gonna work my ass off once I get out of school and get a job. I'm gonna pay these damn bills especially the car, it's 4 months away from getting paid off for Pete's sake.
For now I'm gonna try to live like a monk these next 3 weeks; this shit's getting real old, fast.

I've never really asked money from my dad and I have no plan asking him. I still owe my sis 10 dollars anyways. He'll probably just drop his jaw on the floor if I say that.
I like detailing cars, lol. Sounds like a great offer but I also have limited time with my other part-time job, homework and other stuff. Thanks for the generous offer though.
Unless you come over in Silver Spring, I'd do it for $30.

I know I hate asking too, but I thought of it this way:
Balance on credit card costs 18.9% /a
Banks are stupid to get money from (I generally hate banks)
Parents are intrest free
I actually had to ask the rents for money the first time ever last month, had to pay residence deposit for next year (was expecting it to be in the summer like last year) and was going to be short until my first pay by exactly the residence deposit
I know not everyone is lucky to have the sort of relationship I do with my parents, but if you can use them. I really hate this phrase, but it's so very true -> No shame in asking for help (especially from the rents

I certainly agree with you there. My dad's a wonderful parent (great cook too) and I feel like he's done enough for me that I shouldn't ask for anything else from him. Then again, I've never asked money from him, not since I started working since high school.fixitmattman wrote:I know I hate asking too, but I thought of it this way:

Your fiancee's from H-town? Yeah, H-town blows; I might move out at the end of the year, I need to pay off certain bills to earn some cash when I'm ready to go. I'm only in Hagerstown during weekends anyways due to school...MoxHairR/T wrote:Dude just move away from Hagerstown.. my fiancee did..
I'm gonna ask my dad. He's gonna bite my head off, lol.
Edit: Just right after getting home, dad was there watching TV and then told me that I didn't have to pay for this month's car insurance, he'll be paying for it because I might be tight on cash.

Cricky remember guy your in Montgomery county one of the most costly places in the country one of the riches too like #4 even if you aren't there a lot it cost money just to drive threw it! But I feel you when I go looking for a house which will be 8 months from now I'm looking at carrol county. Your not in the middle of nowhere but yet far enough away you don't feel the bite of the DC metro or Balt Metro area.
Also remeber that the prices of the 2 things everyone use the most countiue to cost more (food & gas) but wages are not keeping pace.
An your not alone I grossed lil over 46K last year and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to pay my bills due gas going up and BGE price hikes that are coming around june btw its a 50% hike so if you have BGE be ready for a shock.
But you'll be alright.
You may want to start thinking room mates. just an idea.

Yes, things are pretty pricey down here...
There is an abandoned house here in Silver Spring which is kinda odd considering it's conveniently located right across the beltway, right off the Takoma Park exit.
On the other hand, I'm also leaning towards staying at my parent's home for a year and just work nearby Hagerstown after graduation. The pay for jobs might not be as high but the cost of living is way lower. Plus, I'm sort of a country bumpkin; DC area's a nice place to live and work but I prefer the wide open spaces.
Hopefully this way I'd pay my school related bills faster with no rent or car payment to pay if things do work out. I kinda miss home too. The roommate idea is definitely still the preferable choice once I'm ready to set out again. I need to sort out my finances first.
Houses might still be cheap in West Virginia though, even in Western Maryland, house prices are going up likc crazy.

I hear ya on being broke. Since we've gotten into the house I've already gone through probably $1500 buying stuff for the house and just things that I've been needing for the past 9 months and dind't have any money. More than the money hits my account on payday it leaves for something else. Oh well..
