My Laptop took a turn for the worse

So today and yesterday I have been having trouble with my primary laptop. It is a HP Pavilion ZV5000, and I can boot it up into windows, but about 10 min. after Windows is up and running I get errors. The errors I get are "PXE-E61:Media Test Failure, Check cable & PXE-M0F: Exit PXE ROM".
Then the computer trys to reboot, but it will not go back into windows. The weird thing is that if I leave the computer off for a few hours, Windows will boot back up, but sooner of later it will crash again with the same error.
Does anybody have some advice?
BTW My backup notebook is an ancient IBM Thinkpad w/ a Pentium II, 4.77 GB Memory, 220,278 KB RAM. Surprisingly this thing is wickedly fast on the internet!

If you dare, open up the case and check you connection to the CD/DVD Rom.
Or see if you can get some compressed air in somewhere to blow some dust out, might be over heating.

your PII is fast on the net because spyware doesn't care about it and also because it made to run efficiently unlike xp pcs because memory back then was very expensive.
It sounds like your harddrive is having problems or your heat sink on the proccessor is comming off.

Obtain a copy of
http://www.eurosoft-uk.com/qawin.htm
and run a quick diagnostic. At least you'll know if it's hardware or software.

bring it down to ypsilanti one of these weekends. I'll take a look at it for you. Hell, if you need, i can back up and erase your harddrive and start over if you need too.

Thanks Opi, but my brother-in-law is actually a computer tech at Blue Cross Blue Shield. When I am done with this semester I will probably drop it off with him to do all of that stuff. Hopefully he won't find all my p0rn
