so latly im just not feeling it... the whole buy shit for the neon and the whole tuner thing....

im pretty sure im over it... and im really debating to sell all my shit... and get a wrangler... thats what i want.... im transfering to a diff college in the fall and i really dont want to be labled as a "racer" anymore... it pisses me off..... the whole my car is faster thing.... bugs me alot .... so yea i duno i have a bunch of shit that is brand new and im thinking about tossing it (ebay)

things i would get rid of
lip kit (sold)
cf hood
new tein s types and toyico hpblues
sohc-srthead adapter new
and a srt-4 turbo setup
8000k hid
and maybe my rims

Damn dude. I know how you feel, but in the end I mod just because I love cars, no matter what kind of car I will have in the future. But do whatever you feel is best, and let us know.

I've decided to not put money into this car unless I decide to get serious with it, meaning SRT-4 swap or build the 2.0 and boost it. But I also might go a with a different car in the future, like a DSM or something.

I probably shouldn't say that on a Neon forum though, TNK and others might get mad/sad.

if the car is paid off or close to it, then get rid of all the stuff and just drive it. when you get out of school and get a job then sell it and get what you want.

Sell me the turbo kit, for cheap, and take payments. I have a 95 that is itching for it, in a bad way.

if I had a wrangler I'd probably start doing the 4X4 mods and smurf.

I know how you feel, there's days I'm completely frustrated with my car. But I'll have it forever, taking it as far as I can N/A, and keeping it as a hobby car that's unique....because it is what it is. Slow (relatively) or not.

I hate the fact that my car is nolt faster - I do not mod my car to be faster than "you", I mod it to be faster FOR me. I decided I am going to chill out on the streets for sure too... I had to watch this movie for class for extra credit (FTW!) - but the show was really sad.

True story about this guy who lost his wife and daughter to a street racer, then he turns around and finds out about the kid being just a "normal" guy, and he gets to know him, and instead of sending him to jail, or pursuing the case further, he drops charges and works a deal with the DA, and sets him free as long as he continues speaking to kids about racing - spoke to me, I have a wife and kid, and damned if I would be pissed if they were lost to such stupidity... so yeah, the car is being made faster for me now, not YOU. I will race on the track from now on.

Oh yeah, the point of the story was forgiveness.

i know exactly how you feel, i dont have much cash flow either...i want to do so much to it, but then in the end im not sure if it would all be worth it...the whole point of this car was 1st car, and goto college where it will get dented to hell....so yeah i know what your going through, especially the fast part...sad when suv's can waste me....eh...i honestly cant wait to sell it, hopefully college will produce a good job and i can get something i really like and can mod..cuz ill keep it for a longggg time

why do you think my neon is stock haha....i have money to mod it...(again) but just deciding against it for now...i just want a stock car, that i love the looks of it, and it's faster than a neon haha....something just to drive, that i love stock

well, i thought it was a thread to complain about your car... so im going to make it one:

just a couple complaints off the top of my head:
inadequate headlights

slow 'high' for the wipers

later models did not have a valve cover due to 'cost cutting'

lack of lumbar support on the seats

01 had much better material covering the seats

damn center seatbelt for the backseat sticks down way too far

SQUEAKY rear brakes with the littlest amount of moisture, even when repaced it kept it up.

the one-touch opening of thesunroof is nice, but why stop there? i hate the fact there is no one-touch closing. also, in earlier models all the power window switches lit up... but not in the later ones. CRAP i tell you

i absolutley despise the old style trunk supports that stick way down when the trunk is closed. how about getting with the times dodge?

and i never noticed until it was pointed out, but a light under the hood would be nice

I wish my heat/ac blower would turn the fuck off.

I've been adding suspension mods and planning for a swap but now with a low college income and the fact that i just dropped 1200 in repairs for the neon its getting depressing.
Every time i see/drive my aunts evo i get the bug again to fix up the neon but, in the future i know the only way i will be able to experience driving a fast car every day is if i get my aunts evo in the future.
