With the talk about posts and removing OT from post count and other stuff, I got to thinking...

These are the Top 10 posters. The first number is the number of posts now, then the number of posts in the OT section, and then their "new" post count.

I personally dont understand this whole thing to be honest. I only read the tread (15k) yesterday. Personally I think Tnk's entertainment value alone is worth mad loot. It makes SOME of want to do things to our rides. It makes some of us want to keep coming back to the site. To some of us (that dont have lives lol) its a form of entertainment as well as getting information. If I open a thread an its not really something im into.... guess what? I move on. Its really simple. If I see 2 people having a conversation I think good for them! It really could be worse. So it might be held in the wrong area... odd that nothing is said about it at the time. We have asked to have the chat room moved to a place so it could be more easily used. And to my knowledge that is in the works. I think once that its in place, a good part of the posting will stop. But again, I like be able to come back the next day an see what I have missed shrugs. Tnk has ALWAYS shown luv for this site. I dont recall him ever saying anything negative about it all. When he is at shows, he is rep'in THIS site. Im sure he encourages others to join too. He is a freakin free ad walking around so what is the big deal?(as I am sure there are others that do the same, dont get me wrong here) ok, so he values his post count... so what! I am with the others here... He isnt hurting anyone. If you open a thread an you find it annoying then move to the next one. No one is making you stay an read the whole thing.
I came here to get information on my car. What made me want to join was seeing that there were real people here being themselves holding conversations, interacting with one another. To me that is what makes it so fun to be here an is what makes me want to come back each day. Granted I havent been here that long an I dont know what happened "back in the day" but as I see it, Tnk isnt hurting anyone. An yes, I am using Tnk's name because from what I have read he is the only one that is being talked about. Well, until this thread of course. Now in all fairness Tnk has his moments of course but dont we all? I have read where Tnk has said that 2nd gen is his family to him so in all honesty where else do you expect him to be? Im sure everyone has read the thread he started about he an his wife. Why cant he be cut a break? Its a tough time for him an Im sure he wants to be somewhere that he feels wanted an cared about (from his family) is that so bad? So yes, I would expect his post count right now to be higher. That doesnt mean that he isnt contributing to the site one bit. I still see his posts helping anyone that he can.
Now with this all being said, Jason & MODS.. Please dont think I mean any disrespect because I dont. I dont know what your jobs are, nor am I trying to tell anyone what to do. Im sure your areas can get crazy at times. Making things easier is understandable. Also, to everyone else I mean no disrespect to you either. All I am saying that there are other things going on in Tnk's case right now an a little understanding would be nice. Again, Once the chat room is in place I think things will work out fine.. shrugs

We're not limiting his posts or telling him he can't come around anymore as I don't have a problem with him. I told him I personally don't really care if he wants to post that much but it's the showboating making the 15k thread thats more of the issue than anything else.

Right now OT section posts aren't counted in the post counts. I talked to him last night and it's not sectioning him out or anything like that. It's been talked about in the past but never changed it.

Anyway, I didn't ask TNK to leave or anything along those lines... that was his choice to step away for a few days He'll be back though... I hope....

About the Chat... yeah it'll be coming back. I just need to find my FTP software and install it so I can get in to change the code.

It is good to know where you stand on the subject so thank you Jason. I too hope he will come back soon.
