I think its funny the cars got crushed, lesson learned the hard way?
of course none of the vins match....they were all motor swapped cars lol.....i know there are swapped neons in cali that wont have match vins so you guys better watch out lolMyNeonSaysHi wrote:If you read the article, most of those cars didn't have VIN numbers matching, so they can be considered stolen. I saw it on the news yesterday too. Like tha tone guy said, they should atleast auction off the parts and donate the money to charity. Just a publicity stunt to try to scare people.
not to be a jerk, but why the hell would they auction the parts off? they are trying to keep "souped up" cars off the road, not make the other ones faster...sure some of the parts would go on track cars.....but seriously, think about it....they would just be putting the problem back on the streetshansken_yo wrote:my dad just sent me a link to that... you beat me to posting it....
I think I shall keep my reciept in my car now. Not that I will do any street racing. That is a pretty harsh punishment, and I agree that they should part them out and sell off the stuff for charity if they are going to impound the vehicles.
I find it slightly funny that they are all hondas (and acura, which is honda) in this bundle.
I'm with you there, my neon is practically family with all the things we've gone through and the secrets it knows. I bawled my eyes out for hours when I backed it into my mom's car and put a plate size dent in the rear bumper.TiNK wrote:i would CRY if they did that to my car. i smurf you not, i would probably be in tears for weeks.
did you not read my post right above you? cops dont want those parts back on the street.....why would they sell them?SteelBluePearl wrote:I'm with you there, my neon is practically family with all the things we've gone through and the secrets it knows. Crazy that they crushed the cars though. What they did was stupid and dangerous but to completely destroy the cars?? Least part them out so they can get picked over.

You think they don't like crushing little imports that street race? That'd be the highlight of my day if I was part of the whole operation. "Woooo!! Look at that Civic crumble!!!" Pass 'dem turbas' around! "Who's next, bitches?!"bad01neon wrote:not to be a jerk, but why the hell would they auction the parts off? they are trying to keep "souped up" cars off the road, not make the other ones faster...sure some of the parts would go on track cars.....but seriously, think about it....they would just be putting the problem back on the streets
"If you have to race, take it to a legal venue," Higbee said. "But as long as they keep racing illegally, we keep crushing their cars."
Almost. Too bad the ones the used last year were purchased from a yunkyard and then crushed, nice try the Police did, to bad it leaked that they weren't actual cars used in street racing.fixitmattman wrote:Meh, last summer they did that in Ontario to make a point, only the cars were older pieces of smurf, not the high quality exclamation point making cars like those there.
