Town Fair Tire sucks

if youve ever been there you might feel the same as me.

they are a god damn scam, all of their advertising is misleading and deceptive.. borderline fraudulent.

i just got my tires put on. yokohama avid trz 195/70/14

how much did it cost me? $463.13

why is this a scam?

because their "low price guarantee", "price match", "free mounting", "free alignment", and every other MF'ing thing they offer is false.

i brought in my quote from Tire Rack for $58 per tire for them to match it. first they added the shipping charge per tire onto that $58 (somewhat reasonable since i would of had to pay that to get the tire, but also somewhat not reasonable because the price of the tire is the price of the tire regardless of where it comes from or how you get it)

so they added something like $12 per tire for shipping (when in actuality the shipping is $8 and change)

then.. they added on what i "would have paid for mounting if you went somewhere else" ... umm.. WTF?

how the F**K does what i would have paid for if i went someplace that i did infact not go to factor into the price of the tire? i'm matching price on TIRES not SERVICES. Town Fair Tire says "free mounting".... so why am i paying for some fictional mounting at a fictional store ive never been to? only conclusion is that their mounting is not really free like they say and the mounting is built into the cost of the tire (false advertising, deceptive business practice)

and where do they come up with the amount for this? maybe i would have brought my tires to walmart and had them mounted for $3.50 each..

then they charged 11.95 per tire for balancing.. ok whatever. used to be $10 as i remember..

the free front end alignment.. great.. but coinsidently ive never brought a car to town fair tire that didnt supposedly need a rear wheel alignment.. so $49 for that.

and then. what i find most interesting is nobody i dealt with from the assistant manager i first talked to to the guy that finally billed me felt it was appropriate to tell me that just taking their price on the tire would have been CHEAPER than trying to do this price match. the price for the tire they gave me was 76.06 (opposed to the 82.37 i was actually charged).. so in the end i would have paid $420.84 with their tire price instead of trying to get them to match $58 from tire rack

they are a corporation of scamming and deception. the guy at the end said i couldnt get the extra road hazard protection because of the price match crap. um what? its still your tire from your company. and i paid more for it.

yeah, their corporate headquarters is going to get an email from me.

im also going to call them and find out how their 30 day test drive works, and what ill have to pay for if i go back for a cheaper tire (like will i have to pay for another balancing of the tires) and just get a tire thats 1/5 the cost so they can give me my money back. and in some twisted way ill have the last laugh

i will never shop there again, nor will i ever tell anyone to go there.


btw, they also couldnt completely do my front end alignment.. said that i had a bad passenger side ball joint and needed a "camber correction kit"... thats funny because i have not had any problems with the front passenger side.. and my car is now making a noise in that area that was not there when i brought the car in, did they f**k up my car too and try to blame it on faulty parts??
