Might be Converting to an SRT Owner
Like title says, i might be trading my Neon SXT for a Neon SRT
Same Year, but it has 44,000 miles on it compared to mine which is only sitting at 33,000.
its gonna be stock with only small bolton's, (intake, exhaust, bov)
only thing i'm gonna do to it, is lower it, and put the new rims i just got for my neon on this one.
Discussion?
i'll ower roughly 8,000$

well, the car has every bolt on and is stage 0. minus fmic
when it's tuned, it is allready a low 13, but i want it to be near stock, because i havn't driven a "fast" or quick car, and i don't want to be stupid about it.
hes a local friend of mine, and cosmetically its allready what i want, minus the rims, which i allready have!
only thing i could really seriously do to it, is maybe some cosmetic engine work

if the need to mod it is so great, then maybe i shouldn't get a srt then, cause i'll be up to my neck allready on car payments, insurance, rent and school payments.
probably wont have but 100$ to my name at the end of each month, and thats going to the bank for a cloudy day.

See, not everyone mods SRTs. You don't have to mod until you can afford it. Drive it stock for a while and then go crazy. The idea is to land one in good condition, take care of it and then do your mods.TheNumberOneD wrote:if the need to mod it is so great, then maybe i shouldn't get a srt then, cause i'll be up to my neck allready on car payments, insurance, rent and school payments.

I went to another bank, rather then trying to mess with Texas Credit Union.
Chase offered to give me a 17,300 loan if i made a 8000$ downpayment....
Thats if i dont have a co-signer.
With a co-signer i can get a 17,300 with only a 2,000$ downpayment.
my best bet however is with WaMu, who offered to give me a 10,000 dollar loan with a 1,000 downpayment without a cosigner, with extremley low monthly payments. only like 200$ a month with gap insurance!
So... i'll keep looking and keep everyone updated.
After looking around for the best loan, the SRT seems far closer to affordable then i orginally thought after dealing with the people at the TCU

yhea, i agree. But its not the car, its all the other bull shit in my life.
like school...
i should just quit college and work full time
lol, nah... Part time job pays for school, rent, car, insurance, ect.
so if i got a full time job, and got rid of my most expensive investment, i'd be banking.
but really, i'd be banking a whole lot more down the line if i went ahead and got a bachelors instead of an associates.
Well... maybe... lol
I kkb, this guys car, and it sells privatley for 15,000 but retails at 17,500
he wants 17,100 for it.
stock accept for exhaust, intake, and better clutch
New Tranny with less than 2000 miles just got installed.
Engine doesn't seem to be hurting, and if it does go down, the warranty which is 5year 100,000 miles, (4 years, and 66,000 left) will fix it no charge like they did the tranny.
i'd hate to tell him no, because he wants to much for it, cause he's my friend, but i don't know if its worth the 17,100 he wants.
but my neon is upforsale anyways, cause if its not his srt, then i'll find another one.

Remember even if is stock the miles on that SRT all aren't nice and easy runs to the grocery store. Personally I wouldn't sell your car unless there is something really wrong, unless you are buying brand new you are more than likely inheriting someone else's problem.

Hmmm... that seems to be my situation!LowNSlow wrote:If the SRT is going to leave you broke... don't do it.
It's not worth having little to no money to your name for a car.
Bachelors FTW- don't make the mistake that I did, settling for an Associates. I have been passed up for many job opportunities since I don't have that little piece of paper.TheNumberOneD wrote:...but really, i'd be banking a whole lot more down the line if i went ahead and got a bachelors instead of an associates.

Refinance the car you have now. Pay it off ASAP. Then work on getting an SRT-4. You are going to put yourself into more debt and be more upside down in the SRT-4 than in your current car. When the SRT hits it's age and mile limit or you just get tired of it (4 years or so) you will be in pretty deep. Be honest with yourself. The added fuel expenses, insurance rate rise, upkeep (tires, brakes, etc.) is going to add to the cost of ownership. Those costs could be going into paying for your current car. Pay it off and keep it. Then go get your SRT-4. Or drive your current car into the ground and save a TON of money and invest it while you are young.
