I would go with that assessment but repairs are expensive since it is an import and its original sticker being closer to 30K then 20K.

thats a hard decision. if it was an sti then id say sti all the way, but ehh between a non sti wrx and an srt.....the srt is definitly faster, but that awd and handleing you can get on the wrx hmmmmmmmmm........definitly a hard decision. im sure you will be happy with whatever you decide to go with.

I'd say srt due to the fact that the wrx is about 5k more than the srt and to get any benifit (other than learing how to change clutches/axles) from the awd you need to get rid of the grocery getter tires about $500 and a nice big rear bar about $275. Once you get on the throttle you have to wait about 3 days for it to come into boost and then you are going. She almost bought a wrx before the R/T and it is really not that great stock plus its really ulgy.

I say if you want speed... SRT-4.

If you still want speed but not quite as fast but also want to have some refinement or a better interior... WRX. Aftermarket parts for the WRX are kinda expensive though if you decide to mod it.

WOW. Not sure what people are gonna say, but here goes --- WRX :D awd > fwd ---

I know a guy who has actually owned both, and he loves his WRX (03) and he said compared to the srt4, he would never go back. :? Oh well, I love both cars, but I really want AWD :D

1/8 mile the wrx will win....1/4 mile the srt4 will win....has that top end to make up for its fwd launches..... ive learned alot about how to spend money to go fast and ill never buy an expensive car again... my crx is worth like 3k and it hauls balls.. lol...if you have that 30k in cash then id say build your own car starting with a shell.

Shop I worked the counter for did valve jobs for local hyundai/subaru dealer. It's hard for me to tell if it is just probability or not, but we did a lot of those scooby heads under their factory warranty, a whole heckova lot of em. Cars that werent even 3 years old needing valve work, guides and all? Something ain't right with those motors. They are also ugly. New nose is even uglier.

If you're looking at used ones, beee careful. Don't get the one thats been rode hard and put away wet.

I'd say go EVO if you need 4WD launches and foul weather fun, but I guess that isn't one of your option$$$ (theres an graphite MR on a lot near me, $440 a month).

So SRT it is IMHO. Cheap, getting cheaper, and they can be built to be ridiculously fast.

no, what i was saying was that the cheapest NSX on the market is like 20 grand and it's 1991, so i'd rather take my chances with srt-4.
but on the other hand 2002 audi S4 looks prettttttty good to me. what u think?
