Caliber srt-4 awd.......hmmmmm

ok now since Srt-4 Caliber will be 2.4 turbo, awd. do you think that there's a chance to do the tranny swap with the whole rear end to the Srt-4 neon???

or at least just that 6 speed tranny???
cuz if it's possible .......i'm on it. damn, can you immagine? srt-4 power, without the caliber looks awd and a 6 speed.......ooooohhhh man.

subies and evos not only not gonna get us from a roll they wouldn't get a chance at all!

As long as there is no electronic control involved maybe but the 2.4 in the caliber is supposed to be different from the 2.4 in the Neon SRT-4

When did they say its gonna be AWD? I heard its still FWD from the leaked pamphlets in Canada.

The R/T AWD trans is weak so I heard, can't handle that much power.

yeah sorry for the awd hype. but still, i'm aiming for the 6 speed. Just because it's gonna lower the highway gas milege.

Neon SRT-4 2.4L more like stratus 2.4 and the 2.0 DOHC

Caliber SRT-4 2.4L world motor IIRC the blacks will the same between Mitsu, Chrysler, and Hyundai the heads would be different. Also I believe the GS eclipse is running the world motor currently.

Its a Getrag 6 Speed, We use a New Venture t850.. I doubt it would mount up the our motor.

A855 > World Engine.

First things first the Caliber srt is FWD. Now lets make a list of front engined cars that are AWD 1and2 gn eclipse, evo, wrx, 3000gt, audi quatro, skyline. Lets get rid of the engines and trannys that probally wouldnt fit and or have the trans pointing the wrong way. That leaves eclipse, evo, and, wrx. The wrx is a boxer which makes it a pain in the ass to do anything to it plus even wrecked wrx's are expensive. The evo has a bunch of electroinic mess to deal with and will be expensive if you can find one wrecked. The eclipses are old, mechanical, and cheap sounds like you have a winner. Now break out the vast array of saws the welder and a tube bender. You will probally have to make a rear subframe to hold the diff, axles and ect. Have fun and let us know how it turns out.
