who's gonna do the first neon 2.0 world engine swapp with mercedes designed duall VVT technology and the buttefly style intake??? any takers? lol

from what it looks like, the "butterfly" intake manifold is still an inferior design to the R/T intake manifold. Uses the same principle, but the new one only regulates the amount of air coming into the cylinders. Which can be good, but the R/T intake manifold actually offers 2 different length runners, which is it's major strength.

Just have to wait until the Caliber SRT comes out and people wreck them. After that I'm sure the engines will turn up somewhere but it'll depends on how well of an engine it is, respond well to mods, makes good power reliably, ect... Could end up people better off with the old SRT engine... just have to wait and see and inspect the engine and electronics to see how difficult it would be.

but the srt is a 2.4.....i was wondering about the 2.0 because when you look at it....it is a far better motor than the 420a and makes 170 at the wheels in a caliber.....put that in a neon with a 5-speed and i bet you'd be low 14s all day with intake and exhaust

IIRC, the 6spd from the mini is useable in a neon..

I've wondered about that. I was going to look at my Mom's Cooper S to see how it mounts up but you can't see anything in there it's so tightly packed lol

Since when Was a 420a put into a Neon?

(420a Exhaust in the front of the engine bay, Intake in the rear, found in Non Turbo 2.0L Eclipse/Talons. S4RE, D4RE, or ECB, ECH, ECC Are Chrylser Motors, Intake in the front, exhaust in the rear.)

The 2.0L World Engine puts out 158hp, the 2.4L puts out 172hp. At thats at the crank.

From what I read it is the Chrysler 2.0Liter Block, So I would imagine it would work. -

I personally think messing with the world engines and putting them into a Neon would be a huge waste of money, It wouldn't be worth the hastle. I hate Open Deck Motors and I believe that the World Engine in the SRT-4 Caliber is going to be very disappointing.

I dont think it was the exact same engine. No 420A has been used in a Neon.
