I wasn't apart of any "Camp." I do remember the DSM Mailing lists though. It was funny when they were trying to get the recall done on the transfer cases.

But as I said. My friends and I kept to ourselves. We called the garage Knightmare Performance. We were from Central California, but as you know all the tracks are down south.

I used the screen name KingMox back in the day.. but I was a lurker in most forums.

Yeah all the CelCal DSM'ers were awesome peeps, laid back, but SoCalDSM community started to get seeded with jerks, and within one of the larger shops some politics started causing us customers problems, so I got out of DSM altogether.

I had fun tho... I had two 1G's, a Laser Turbo:

And a GSX:

The laser was being groomed for handling, but due to personal circumstances coinciding with the crap going on in the SoCal DSM community, it got mothballed, and eventually was stolen :(

But a lot of those guys went into group rents of willow springs, and others were abid auto-x guys. Only a few were drag racers, and those were fast-bawlz cars. A few of them were also club racers.

The owner of Road Race Engineering had a race-prepped 1G FWD turbo roadracing car that was sponsored by a number of companies including Tecate beer. It was a champion car a few times on the track.

Willow Springs.. wow that was my favorite track to drive on. I loved the Elevation Changes.

I didnt do any business with Road Race but I did see them at the track. I had parts from Buscher, Shepard, TRE, and etc. I miss that car, but I myself could never buy another DSM. I just like to play without worrying about if I'm going to make it home or am I going to have to call a tow truck. lol

It was a Black '96 GSX with Black Traklites w/Azenis RT215s.. Those or Hoosier track tires for Certain Events.

Good times. My co-workers love the stories I tell about racing a DSM. Like when the transfer case locked up on the highway. lol That was a Blast.

I too had parts from those same vendors, also Extreme and DSM motorsports. Was fun, but it's long over now.

Good to see a former DSM'er ended up tuning an SRT :)

And you should try to get back into the game man.
