NADA says $5600 for clean retail

KBB says for Private Party
Excellant: $5800
Good: $5300

Seems like its well maintained. But points for you to knock money off would be it needs a timing belt, unless of course its been done.

I would think $4000 - $4500 would be a reasonable offer depending on what kind of condition everything else is in, interior, exterior, engine, etc.

Dude $5000? Really? I want to sell my 2004 SXT (black, auto, upkeep is very good, polished wheels, sunroof, power group, CD player with 6 CD changer, SRT sway bars, etc.) with (I'm guessing by this time next year)80K and I am crossing my fingers for $4500. I guess I had better ask for $6K and hope for the best. LOL lowselfworth

offer him 4 and see what he says.

But you gotta ask about the car... I did this with the truck. ASked about this or that, let the guy talk on and on about all his perfect maintenance efforts, new clutch, stereo, etc.... took it for a test drive. I didn't nitpick to get a lower price.

I just waited to a point where something in what the guy said told me Now's the time, and I said, "well, let's talk money." He said, "alright." I said, "I'll give you 3 grand, cash." He paused for a moment and said, "Cash? Ok sounds like a deal."

The truck was listed for $4 grand.

I dunno it was just this feeling you get when you can suddenly sense the other person doesn't want you to walk away from it.

If the guy isn't that interested in selling, he won't budge. But this guy just bought another truck and wanted to sell this one, so I had the advantage.

So feel it out, but when the time is right, off him $4K.

i'd offer $4000 at the most
ask for reciepts or proof of the maintenance. no reciepts equals lower price. just because the guy sais it was done doesn't mean that it was and you'll have to spend time and money checking everything and possibly fixing something.

Well he was very honest when I talked to him. The father works for Dodge and bought it when his lease was over. All the work has been done from Dodge and when I had the dealer run the vin the work came up that he had done. I really dont intent to pay more then $4k for it because I know thats all that its worth to me. Hell I talked the guy into selling my brother his 02 RT for $5K with alot less miles. Well Im going to check it out tonight at my shop so we shale see how it goes.

Well deff worth $4k but not what he was asking. Needs axle and few small things. Very weird interior. RT interior in light grey

$5k isn't out of line at all, especially as an asking price. That is depending on how well it was taken care of.

Well when you have a Dad there that thinks the car runs perfect with a broken axle you cant get much in. I know how I like my cars to drive and this isnt one of them. My brother just bought a 02 RT with less miles for cheaper then this car.

Ok Ok I got it!
Try and convince him that because the neon has roll up windows in the back and power in the front, its a factor defect. "Who knows what else could be messed up?"
That should net you a drop of say....$500 or so :angel5:

No it sound slike these people are ignorant AND stubborn, and that's a bad combo. They're more interested in squeezing you for the most they can get than just trying to sell the car and be done with it.

Do business elsewhere. Buying from dummies is only advantageous if they DON'T think the pile of poo they're sitting on is a pile of gold.
