just wondering if ya do

comments on them?

i was thinking about getting one just for the novelty of it.. i have no problems whatsoever driving/turning with 1 hand as it is.. and honestly i think the knob would get in the way and would be awkward to use.. but whatever..

lets put aside that i think they are illegal to have anyways... or at least in my state i think.. not sure about if they are for "handicap" use..

I rocked out with one at a salvage yard, on their yard beater. It was hella fun. You could whip the wheel around so fast

The only downside is that they are illegal here too. You can't really take it off if you get pulled over. I heard this is because in an accident your wheel turn quickly sometimes and the knob could break your wrist. Overall though, they're pretty fun.

I'd bet there is another reason because things like seatbelts can break bones or decapitate a person, but the are mandatory.

my friends van (he is handicap) has one and it is the most annoying thing ever! Can't palm the wheel, and if you do use the knob it is not very smooth or fast. Just my personal experience

IMO you don't really need one on a car. I've used them on other equipment when you're in tight places and doing a lot of steering and maneuvering. For that they're the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I wouldn't put one on my car. Besides, any time I really need to crank the wheels she's two handed anyways :cheerleader:

Oh I don't know, the bottom one is kind of interesting in a historic kind of way. I've never used one so I probably shouldn't be commenting. :tardbang:

MI they are illegal unless your handicap. My ES had one when we bought it because the prev owner had no legs. Left a nice mark in the steering wheel leather

I get alot of my cars in my shop that have those. I thought it was kind of cool, didn't bother me.

I've heard that they were outlawed because of Sammy Davis, Jr. Now I know for fact that he did lose his eye to one in a minor collision, but whether or not that caused them to outlaw it is another thing.

I remember in the early 80s my uncle buying some 70s Mopar sedan at a Michigan Bell surplus auction that had one of those in it. It was plain of course, no fancy Mopar logo or anything.
