but other than that why would somebody pay some money to become premium member on a disconiuted car forum... I think the forums will be there for a long time like 4 to 5 more years before it dies down and so your life time membership of 25 years would have been a waste.

Camaro forums, supra forums, honda forums, crx forums, etc etc...

one thing that i noticed (i only check the for sale board) is some people over there want way more money than what shit's worth

Its not only srt4's If you look the forums are also for all SRTs

Srtforums has been a pit for scammers and trolls as of late. Just about every problematic vendor you can think of still owes money to members and yet are still able to post on their boards and have "supporting vendor" status ie: Giving Ekool hush money.

In the past year, they are on their 4th or 5th major incident. Kustomatrix, Nighthawk/srt4-store, Allied composites/Rice eater, carbon works, the Carbon By design scandal etc. Ekool and his scumbag vendors must have funneled tens of thousands of dollars worth of members hard earned money into their own pockets.

It's a shame that srtsyndicate has not gotten bigger.

I thikn it's funny that they take away a lot of privileges and force us to have more ads....then pay for it to get rid of it?

trust me, there is no cure for this sickness.

I have had many of my own bulletin boards with varying topics with a range of over 100,000 members. I have spent hundreds of dollars my own money and have even had other sites and even commercial companies steal content from my sites and resell it for profit. The thought never crossed my mind to charge people for special access or anything similar.

I did all of that because i liked it and continue to enjoy creating communities that people with similar minds can get together for a common cause. Contrary beliefs and opinions are always welcome just as long as they follow the rules. Guys like Ekool are only in it because they enjoy the money.

Back when i got started in the web, commercial companies online were strongly frowned upon.

this site is way better... and if I don't have to pay for this one how could I feel that I need to pay for that one. Meh, I'll just not go there as often.... besides there are way cooler people here.

i got nothing agasint srt owners. but some of the people on srtforums are douche bags and think that they are better then every one else and down on the non srt 2gn neons..i still laugh at some of them that think there car isnt a neon

most people "not all" with fast cars are dicks, just like most peole with guns are jerks. Power trippers!

Meh, I'm still pretty proud that I have yet to put any real ads on the forum/site other than for other Neon forums/websites if I have a banner exchange going with them. Thats what the decals and calendars are there for, to pay for the hosting/domain charges.

Thanks Jason, nothing annoys me more than ads. Like the org text ads. Those are the worst. You try to avoid them and then you accidentally roll over one. Pisses me off.

I just took a peek at SRTForums, that place looks like hell now. So many ads its ridiculous.

Agreed, which is my main reason why I don't do it b/c I don't like them. I'd feel a little bit like a hypocrite for putting them on here when I don't like them and complain about them on other sites. Sure, I might be able to make a few bucks with them but is it really worth it to piss the members off just to make a few bucks a month. Just can't justify doing that since I don't want to intentionally piss people off like that.

Seriously if $$ ever becomes an issue go PBS style and do a fund raiser.

I don't particuarrly like asking for money I'd personally rather people buy decals and such that way you're getting something in return.
