Nah couldn't do that...work is a 24 mile ride each way. Sure is nice having a weekend toy and a DD again :)

Great color too, looks slick.

Definately not dad's...that's actually the custom plate i want to get... NOTDADS

it's a 1999 FRC(fixed roof coupe) and for those not familiar with them, they were the pre-curser to the z06, and only came in hardtop/z51 suspension/6 speed configuration. They were rated at 345/350 and my particular car is the lightest option combination you could put together. The ONLY option it has is the $2-2500 optional magnesium wheels so Im guessing it's sitting around 2950-3000 lbs. How's that for power to weight?

Oooh, I am so very envious right now, it's beautiful. A platform that can stand a lot more power, but has plenty already.
LS1 can go to almost 500hp N/A with TB/FAST Mani/Dart pro1 heads/comp cam/lifter/springs/rockers setup. Five grand puts you in supercar territory. :D

Guy came in the shop one day with an '84 w/crossfire inj., actually a nice looking car, black with ZR1 body kit & rims. He asked about performance upgrades. Shop owner/guru laughed and said, "Swap an LS1 in, that dog won't hunt!"

Thanks my plans are pretty much just basic bolt-ons and a dual-stage dry hit. A guy on LS1tech was able to successfully hit his stock ls6 with a 280 shot. I figure with some tires on a 200-225 hit the car will do 10s all day long, and that's good enough fer me :D

Thanks but it would have been even sooner if I didn't blow so much cash on the various f-bodies I've owned. To be honest if I would have just listened to my parents and drove a POS beater for the last 3 years I could have picked up a low mileage z06 instead of the FRC! :tardbang:

most anything made by porsche or even an old pantera ... or a saleen S7 ...

but if i had to choose an american 'sports car' .. it would be the saleen or a viper ... (tho i would still put the pantera into that category as well)

Hmm... An LS6 could be a really fun project if you have a lot of time to waste and work at a machine shop of sorts. Tube frame a neon, and toss that sucker in there with a couple GT35s, and 8s would be realistic numbers...
