just for the hell of it ...

Saturday afternoon after work i got to go on my first official 'trail ride' ... it was at the bike park in Ruston LA ...

met up with 2 others from town and went over there ...

started off on the normal trail .. and after a mile into it .. it kicked my butt ...

going downhill .. with a shit load of roots on the trail ... my front wheel got caught in one of them while i was trying to squeeze between two tree's ...

grabbed a tree as my bike went down ... my pedals decided to smack my legs a few times ... so got a few souviners of the trail ... in the shape of my pedals.

(earlier that day had installed a set of platform pedals that have the little spikes on them)

after that, we changed over to the 'newb' trail .. and rode for another 4.5 miles ... did fine on that ... still a lot of roots and such ... and i still can not start on the bike when i am going up hill .. so had to do a little walking =(

was a total of about 1.5 hours ... it was a blast tho ... learned a lot in that short time ... also learned what parts of my bike suck .. namely the tires ... hah!

Yep, the best way to learn what you need to change/upgrade on a bike is to trail ride it. You find out quick what is crap on a bike :D
